Bradford Bulls announce Caro signing

Bradford Bulls have announced the signing of winger, Omari Caro on a deal until the end of the season.  Following a successful trial period with the Bulls, the 24-year-old goes straight into contention to play against Sheffield Eagles on Sunday.

The Hammersmith-born winger burst onto the scene in 2012 with his hometown club, London Broncos, scoring four tries in 12 appearances.  Now a Jamaica international, Caro signed for Hull Kingston Rovers in 2013 but, despite scoring 20 tries in 22 appearances for the East Yorkshire outfit, he was released at the end of last season.

“I had a phone call from James (Lowes), asking what I was up to,” said Caro, “and I was pleased to have heard from him.  I thought I would come up and give it a go, and I am very excited about what could come of this for me.

“Although I had a good time at both my former clubs, for some reason it did not work.  I’m not entirely sure why, I’m just glad to be back playing again now.  I already know a few of the lads here, so settling in has not been too difficult.

“I am really impressed with the depth of the squad. There are a lot of good players and I am looking forward to getting started.  I will bring some try scoring potential on the wings, which will hopefully lead to the boys getting back into the big time.

“There is a lot of pressure on me to perform but I can handle that.  I back myself to play – and play well.

“If you had told me six months ago that this year I would be probably playing against Hull KR, in the Super 8s, I would not have believed you.  But with that in mind, I am very much looking forward to potentially playing against them.”

With the business end of the season drawing in, Bradford chief, James Lowes is delighted to have secured Caro’s services.  “He has come down and he has ripped straight in,” said Lowes.

“He’s got a very good try-scoring record in Super League, so we hope that his finishing prowess will see us score more of those half chances that we sometimes miss.

“The decision on whether he will make his debut this weekend – or next week – will be made very soon.”
