Bulldogs sign two as key duo ruled out through injury

Batley Bulldogs have signed Callum Casey and Dave Peterson for the remained of the season.

Irish International Casey joins the club after previous spells at Halifax and Hunslet and will join up with John Kear’s side ahead of their clash with Leigh on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Peterson joins Batley after his departure from Bradford. The utility forward returned to England ahead of the Bulls’ first season in the Championship but struggled to break into the Bulls team and spent time at other Championship clubs.

Their arrivals follow the news that James Brown and Danny Cowling could be out for long periods with knee injuries.

Front-rower Brown, who has been in exceptional form for Batley this seen, has a potentially serious cartilage tear of his left knee while youngster Cowling has suffered a lateral ligament tear and potentially a meniscal tear of his left knee.
