Bulls could be boosted by returning star this weekend

Bradford Bulls are set to be handed a potentially huge injury boost this weekend, as centre Matty Blythe nears a return from injury.

The 25-year-old – who has yet to appear for the club this season – tore tendons in his thumb in a training session just before Christmas, and has missed the opening five weeks of Super League XIX.

However, he could return for this weekend’s trip to Hull Kingston Rovers, or next weekend’s clash at Widnes the week after, handing Francis Cummins a huge boost.

“I’m looking to put my name in the frame in the next week or so,” he told the Telegraph and Argus.

“I started training last week with a bit of contact and skill and it’s been fine, so it’s just a case of getting back out there now.

“I’ve just been working hard for the past ten weeks to try and get myself fit as well as working on different aspects of my game.

“If it’s not Hull KR this week then it’s almost certain to be Widnes. I’m just taking every day as it comes.
