Carney has “another issue” but Frayssinous hopeful

Catalans Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous has revealed that although Todd Carney’s pec injury has cleared up, there is another problem which could make him a doubt to face Huddersfield tomorrow.

Carney has endured a torrid time with injuries since joining the Dragons at the start of the season, and with only two games to go before the Super 8s, Frayssinous revealed that he is doubtful for the clash tomorrow with another injury problem.

“Todd was pretty close last week,” Frayssinous said. “His pec is now pretty good but he has another issue.

“This morning he was not quite right but he will have more treatment and a good night’s sleep and I’ll make a decision after watching him running in the morning.”

If Carney does not make it, Frayssinous confirmed youngster Lucas Albert will once again step into the gap.

“It will be a bonus if he’s on the field but, if not, Lucas will play. He is young but he is very talented. He made some history for the Dragons last week but he has been training with us this season and I am confident in his ability.”
