Cas bordering on disrespectful, says Wigan Warriors boss

Wigan Warriors boss Shaun Wane has lit the touchpaper ahead of this weekend’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Castleford Tigers, by saying that the noises coming out of their camp border on being over-confident, and it has rallied his own troops before the game.

Wane pulled no punches when discussing the Tigers ahead of the tie of the round this weekend, saying his players are aware of the supposed over-confidence from the Tigers, and cited it as a great motivation for his side to hit back and dump Cas out of the cup.

“They’re a team that are very confident, bordering on over-confident if you hear the stuff which they’ve been saying, and that’s a good motivation for our players that.

“If you hear what they’ve been saying you’d think they’ve won 20 trophies in 10 years. Hopefully that will be their downfall. My players are aware of it… it’s definitely stoked the fire with some of the things, that border on disrespectful.”

“You hear stories coming out of Castleford since this draw was made and they’re ultra-confident. Let’s see what they win, and where they end up. But for the minute they’re doing really well.”
