CASTLEFORD TIGERS have been hit with another long-term injury blow as in-form forward Jeremiah Simbiken is set to be out for months with injury.
The Papua New Guinea forward has been one of Castleford’s bright sparks during the 2025 Super League season, but Tigers boss Danny McGuire has revealed that the back-rower will be out for twelve weeks at best.
“Jeremiah has had a bit of bad news this week. I’ve got to be careful to jump the gun, but it’s going to be a lengthy one,” McGuire said.
“He will have an operation in a couple of weeks and we will reassess from that. Twelve weeks is a best-case scenario from what I’ve been told.
“We will look at that really because it’s not a position we are blessed in. Alex Mellor is the only recognised back-rower we have.
“I think we could look for a new body, we have got people that fill in. George Lawler can fit in really comfortably and Joe Westerman can too.
“I don’t think we can go for the rest of the season if it is long-term.”
