We live in an age where all clubs are trying to out do each other on social media.
But following last night, it may take some time before anyone can trump the Castleford Tigers.
Cas are certainly one of the more active clubs on social media, but they took their game to a whole new level last night with their squad number release in what can only be described as the most memorable release of all time.
The squad number release took place last night at the club’s annual player sponsor shirt presentation, with the club’s media team going into overdrive to reveal the jerseys number by number.
That, of course, is impressive in itself. But what made Castleford’s release so memorable were the outrageously funny player profile pictures with every reveal.

In the series of tweets, each player pulled a pose that, for the want of a better word, were hilarious.

Of course, it didn’t take the people of Twitter long to have some fun. Some suggested Cas had gone mad, some suggested the team had a constipation problem, others likened the team to movie stars.

What can’t be denied is that Castleford did a cracking job to promote their season, and if their squad release is anything to go by, we’re in for an exciting season.
