Leigh Centurions remain undefeated at the top of the Kingstone Press Championship table after seven rounds of the competition, after they defeated Hunslet Hawks 6-42 today at the South Leeds Stadium.
The Centurions didn’t have everything their own way, however, and were only leading 0-6 at half-time, not having opened the score until the 36th minute through a try by Oliver Wilkes.
Bradford Bulls remain in second place after defeating Halifax 32-19 at Odsal, although they were losing 0-13 at half-time, and a shock looked on the cards.
And there was a shock result at the BigFellas Stadium, where London Broncos earned an 8-24 victory against Featherstone Rovers, and they move into fifth place in the table.
The two big derby clashes were won by Workington Town, who defeated Whitehaven 40-0 in West Cumbria, and Dewsbury Rams, who triumphed 6-21 against Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.
Meanwhile on Wednesday evening Sheffield Eagles won the South Yorkshire derby when they defeated Doncaster 4-26 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
