Leigh owner Derek Beaumont has insisted Rangi Chase has not left the club, but has suffered an injury.
TotalRL revealed yesterday that Chase was set to leave Leigh, with reports on social media claiming he had actually been sacked.
However, Leigh clarified their position last night by stating the former Man of Steel hadn’t been sacked and was still contracted to the club. And Beaumont has claimed Chase has actually suffered a recent injury.
“I can’t control the speculation but people need to let him get on with his life and let the club get on with doing our job.
“Rangi’s had a difficult year, he’s struggled with injuries and was injured playing against Batley recently.
“He has my full and unequivocal support in everything he does.”
Chase has already missed two months of the season but made his return recently against Featherstone, before appearing to suffer another blow against Batley just under a fortnight ago.
It is unknown what injury Chase has sustained or how long he will be out for.
