Doncaster RLFC have announced the signing of prop forward Matt Groat.
The 23-year-old arrives at the Dons with a high pedigree, having represented West Tigers 17 times in the NRL before moving to St George Illawarra in 2013.
The forward was due to sign for Super League side Salford Red Devils over the winter however, due to visa delays, the deal did not go through.
Groat becomes the Dons third signing this month, following the arrivals of Peter Fox and Ben Reynolds.
The prop forward will be looking to add even more fire power to Paul Cooke’s squad, following their winless start to 2015 and the new man has admitted he can’t wait to get going in a Dons shirt.
Speaking about the move Groat said: “It’s unfortunate that things fell through with Salford, but I’m really happy to be here at Doncaster.
“The Dons have given me an amazing opportunity and I am really grateful for it.
“Playing in England is going to be different, but I’m just so excited, I can’t wait to get started.”
