Former Bradford Bulls star Abi Ekoku could make a sensational return to the club as chairman, after it emerged he was backing one of the bids to take over the club.
Ekoku – who also played for London and Halifax – has previously served as chief executive of the club in the past, but he could now return in a new role as part of Richard Lamb’s consortium to buy the club.
A decision is expected within the next 24 hours as to who will gain control of the club, who are currently rooted to the foot of the Super League table on -2 points.
Ekoku is believed to be working alongside London-based businessman Lamb and his consortium – who have already had one bid rejected for control of the club.
It is unclear as to whether Ekoku would be a permanent chairman or interim, but it certainly looks like should Lamb win control of the club, the former Bradford man will be returning to the club in some sort of capacity.
