Must admit to struggling for enthusiasm for this match as bar disaster it should be 2 points but be interested to see how the fresh faces go and the set up of the team and whether we can nil them again! UTT
Exactly why we need out of this league. Anyone who says this league is good need reminding of fixtures like this when there's a handful in the ground. Big win hopefully and a confidence booster

Definitely we played the best at home against Swinton so heres hoping they are a team we have the measure on.

It’s only by supporting that the club gets funds to strengthen to do that.
I know that basically because I'm not thick.

To be fair league 1 is a really competitive league. With some really good sides and players down there, including a lot in town colours. Maybe this idea of everyone thinking it's a rubbish league is putting people off, yesterday's was a dross game, there's not many people who can argue. But we've got a good side with some exciting players, when was the last time we had players who could score from nothing like zarrin and Levi?
as for the match day, the kids takeover is 1st, then the game, then the entertainment, would be nice for some fans to get down earlier to watch the kids show what they can do and have a few extra pints.
the entertainment has always been good after the games since the marquee went up. And the singers are generally good and create a great atmosphere (maybe not the Liam Gallagher last week
) where the fans and even players mingle after the game
The rubbish league isn't just the standard of rugby it's the fans that come with them. Most bring a car full. I've supported town now for over 40yr and rarely have missed a home match in that time. But some people won't come and watch unless it virtually guaranteed we win or it's a big game. We've had more false dawns than most clubs, come down and watch they've said bring a friend and we get beat. The floating supporters leave and you'll have all heard someone say I'm not coming back. Hopefully the more the season goes on people do come back and hopefully we play like we can. Then.we can push on to the playoffs and get out of this rubbish league.

Not sure what people expect or realistically want.
Won 6 in a row. = 594 crowd - including 200 points for and 60 against.
Lose 1 out of 7 - lucky to see 500 here next match?
Absolutely baffling to me and the hard working board , a true community club, done everything that a community sports club should do, and then there's reaction like this.
So disappointed and disheartening.

Absolutely agree with you. We are stuck in this rubbish league and without crowds will never get to the standard they want to watch without them. A vicious circle.

The thing is the floaters pay to watch town win. If they came today they won't have been very impressed. I heard someone on the way out say they'll be lucky if there's 500 next home match. Sad times.

Maybe move Carter to 13 to play Jammer and Weir together, Stevenson to 2nd row...though we've got 3 belting other 2nd rowers....great to have these kind of "problems" for once.
I don't mind carter but he needs to pass the ball more. To many times he's tackled with ball in hand when team mates are waiting for the pass.

I thought Fulton had a great game today. His defence was outstanding, well done him. Does anyone know why Caine wasn't playing? With Bradley's ban coming up be nice to have him in there. Excellent performance though best I've seen for years

Not sure that this will be a competitive game, looking at the Thunder's recent results.

Towns game plan worked a treat marra. 3 players with H.I.A's 1 possibly out for the season the other out for a few weeks.
Probably need a more experienced ref for the return fixture.
Suck it up princess. Maybe start watching football or something less physical.

I am sensing a certain amount of doubt, sensitivity maybe even fragility in the fan base ,possibly due to Jontys disappointing early results with his 200k squad or just normal early season edgiines?
Wow now he can read our minds. What a melt

Historically Haven haven't been great planning ( as haven't Town) This season Haven have been very conservative budgeting for 500 average attendance. With the start 1770 Town 4000 Warrington and 940 Swinton they have probably cleared 50k. Obviously tax to pay on that but it's 6 home games on the budget plan of 500 per game.
Town will be spending 3 x what Haven are this season which is fine as you have investors . The bit I don't get is for what reason the trap door from the Champ to League 1 has all but been closed with the new play off system.
So don't give it your best shot then. What's the point of having a team at all? Haven are building for the future we're told but why? You talk typical jam eating s#1te

Just our luck to get horrific weather for our opening game, 60mph winds and rain could make it a lottery. Won’t put me off but it will for some.

Hopefully folk bought the £10 ticket so won't matter if they they don't come

After all the pre-season fixtures and the two cup games it's still pretty clear that us fans aren't sure what our strongest 17 will be. Which isn't a bad thing. Curious to see what people's preferred lineup would be now we've had chance to see everyone.
Galea, Hutton, Levi, Rio, Eccleston, Carter, Weir, Ainley, Doran, Scholey, Howlett, Barnes, Stephenson.
Guy, Farrer, Bradley, Phillips
Yes I'd go with that, I wish matty would sign, think the close matches we've had he would have got us across the line.

It was great to see the old place buzzing under the lights, it’s been a while since we had a night game atmosphere like that. Good effort from our lads but the gulf in speed and execution was immense. Well done to the club for the way they promoted the game, and Leigh for their amazing generosity. It just left you wanting more occasions like that, it was a throwback and DP looked great under the lights. UTT
It was awesome to see. Could you imagine having a crowd like that and winning like we used too.
