Well said Scrim Reaper; in my opinion a very reasonable and sensible summary of the situation.

Thoroughly enjoyable game. Barrow will gain a lot of friends with their brand of Rugby. And five tries from the Bulldogs was a treat.

It’s on facebook his parents have said he was given all clear and Hunslet man was fine walking around before the end of the game
I'm surprised you didn’t see it you don’t miss anything these days
That's good to know. Like Phildog I'd not picked up on Facebook comments.

Any news on Render's injury?

No Brown in the squad? He will be missed.

So Kear, Marshall, chitakunye all drop out as we welcome Jayden Myers, Brad Martin and new loan signing Luke Thomas and for the first time this season Adam Gledhill who we have missed massively especially with our unlucky injury record this time especially in the forwards, Peposhi had a good game last week same with Hepworth
will Arundel be fit? if not play Martin and Hepworth in the second row
The back 7 always pick itself
I've checked out Luke Thomas online. Wikepedia say that he is 0.79 inches tall and weights 629 stone. That should be interesting!

Regarding Toffee and Bully talking about centres, I'll say again; we're playing (my sponsored player) Elliot Kear, an international centre with SL experience but now 36 on the wing and a try scoring phenomenon for us last season on the wing as his centre. Because Joe Arundel played almost a full game v Widnes with a busted calf he had to miss out at Leigh so Blake was put up there but then broke down pre-match so the bench gad to becee-arranged. Next biggest guy in the squad was Ollie G who had to go into the pack, although Alfie is a big lad who could have gone in their. A team has to be turned out and we know that at the moment we're playing more than 1 square peg in a round hole, but it's how we get by. 36-0 down at half-time and everybody in Rugby League would have been expecting Leigh double it and more but we lost the 2nd half 26-4 by doing what we do, kept going, kept tackling, kept competing. With DR/loan men back this week (hopefully) I still expect us to beat York at home. Things just gave to get better soon!
Kear has played rather more International games on the wing than at centre Phil. He is a versatile player though with lots of appearances at club level at centre, lots at full back, some at half back and the highest number on the wing. He's a great squad player.

Well, thanks for the clarification.

Also Noah High, where has he come from? What's his position? None of last week's DR are with us, Smith in the Trinity squad as is Myers but Rourke and Shaw in neither. Anyone got experience of Noah?
A quick search online shows him to be a 20 year old Cumbrian on Wakefield's books. Ex Warrington, he has played a few games for Whitehaven and Workington and is described as a prop and a back row forward.

shaw wasn’t risked after Friday training with wakey he should be back
we will be fine stop panicking
That's good news KTF. Thanks for information. I think that one more big body on the bench would have made a huge difference yesterday.

Gittins, it was 33-5, 11 tries 1 goal. Geoff Marsh had a field day!
If it's the game that I recall Toohey was the goalkicker who only converted one try but he won a competition in which he kicked 11 out of twelve goals, eight of them from the touchline, and which I believe was the same season. I recall Pakside looking very run down. I think that the great Geof Gunney, normally a second row forward, turned out at full back for Hunslet that day and had a bit of an altercation with Jack Thomas, Martyn's second row partner. Does any of this ring a bell Phil?

Not crossed firmly enough. Eighteen apiece is a great though, considering Oldham's form coming into the game.

In RL isn't it the tradition for the home side to change strip in the case of a clash?
It certainly used to be BSJ

And to you Bill.
I wasn't having a dig at Batley (you lot are very sensitive this year, aren't you?) but commenting upon journalistic hyperbole from LE express, once more. (That means extreme exaggeration btw.)
I have travelled outside of the UK on occasion and can never recall having seen Fox's biscuits on display - maybe I haven't been looking in the right place.
Cheer up, soon be summer. Now you think that I don't know what hyperbole is, no wonder I'm senstive (especially as I can't remember what I did yesterday).
Good luck for the new season and I hope to run into you next Boxing Day.

I know that you defend everything associated with Batley but being sold internationally isn't the same as "world famous". Hyperbole, as I said.
Seemingly now owned be Ferrera and exported to Europe, Asia and North America. Your comments are fair but what defines the word "World Famous"? In the absence of a scientific definition of World Famous perhaps you should allow we Batleyites some reflected glory. There is not a lot to crow about these days in the Heavy Woolen District.
By the way..........Happy New Year BSJ Bill

It has been said that Dean's favourite position is centre. Whether JK will think it right to risk him at centre is another matter of course .
