  1. Indeed a good game and you just about deserved the win. I saw the lad who got carried off on crutches in the clubhouse after the game so he's up and about, best wishes to him. Shame about a minority of your fans (two) who seem to have an attitude problem, unacceptable really but it happens I'm afraid.

Hope it's as good a game tomorrow.

  2. Ideas to improve the game below Super League:

Dont scrap the Northern Rail Cup, however make the competition a bit more interesting by making it a straight knockout format but ties over two legs.

The Game On magazine, scrap this lump of garbage completely. No one likes it and teams are losing important advertising revenue by not being able to have programme adverts as well as it being full of things that have no relevance to the game you are at. Make it a monthly league review magazine instead.

Re-introduce promotion and relegation to Super League, on a champions only basis. Squad quality shouldnt be the be all and end all here, theyve won the league and thus deserve a crack at SL, isnt that what every player strives for? We all know that "licencing" was just a cover to fast-track the Celtic Cheaters into SL without them winning NL1 so maybe the RFL will now give up the charade and make it fair.

Eleven teams in NL1 and ten in NL2 is a bit low. Make it 12 in each by introducing a team from Edinbugh to NL2 as well as a Conference National team who is ready to make the step up. Introduce a team from Paris into the Championship (ideal now Paris is 2/3hrs from London by Eurostar). Abolish the relegtaion exempt rule for the frenchies, you want to join the english league you have to play by the same rules as the rest of us.

Abolish the dual-reistration system, utter tosh and has been shown not to work effectively. Instead encourage SL teams to loan for a season youth and reserve players to NL1/2 get match experience at a higher level that SL reserve grade. This will surely only benefit their development and thus England in years to come.

    Rule changes:

Give the referee authority to determine when a team has or has not gained an advantage from an opponent error by allowing them to shout "advantage" and "advantage over" union style, this would avoid the confusing mess we often get in games.

    Video referees at all matches.

Sky must show at least one home game from each team per season in NL1/2 to allow a more even distribution of TV cash.

    Opinions?

  3. For me personally it is difficult to do anything during games due to my media commitments. We are looking into putting something in the match programmes but this is all cost and time. Watch this space though.

Griff's right. Ive volunteered on many levels for the club for a few years now but you only have so much time you can give.

  4. The Supporters Club are in the after match suite every game and are easily contactable via email. I personally am at every game and am well known so any questions please feel free to ask me.

Regarding the other points please feel free to talk to Simon Proctor (Match Day Manager) on any match day or contact him via the club. He will be happy to respond to those points made.

  5. so have many others.....

what is negative about asking where is the Supporters Club?

................... or are you all that is left ? Simple question ..... IT (The Club) has not been blatently obvious as a unit to generate interest so where is it ?

I will no longer dignify this with any reponse.

  6. nice to get to meet you baz last night..i never knew you was marty's boyfiend lol

well you learn somert everyday lol

    good game thou ;)

Good job my missus has a good sense of humour.....

Great game, your not far away. I expect Patch was rather unpopular afterwards.

  7. I am convinced that the true crowd figures are not represented asthere were a hell of a lot more folks at the Wigan game than Fev but Sheff United, who have sole control on the gates, and the bar, produced a figure of approx onl 100 more !!! I dont think so.....

One bonus, so far is he fact that after a game folks(home & away), are meeting up in a decent room for a chat drink etc. All the players and coaching staff are there and it is FAR FAR better than it ever was in the Function Suite a DVS during the past 5 years.

It would be nice to see The Supporters Club in the ground.

Talking of the Supporters Club, see other topic heading.

Theyve all left because of negative posts like this from negative people.

  8. Despite being a Wednesday fan, on the whole i liked it.

Entrance at the turnstiles was straight forward, pitch excellent, big screen handy, PA guy needs a stimulant or replacing with Richard Lee.

Only downside was the jobsworthy hi-viz who tried to mive us from the next-to-end block. He was saying that the fire regs didnt allow us to use that block. I showed him my season card which had "unreserved seating" written very clearly on it and then explained that the block adjacent was full and we had no choice but to sit there, or stand in the isle.

Dont know if he tried to move the 30 or so people who moved there in the half time break as i was invited to do colour commentary for hospital radio in the second half. Having given up trying to be Eddie Waring ill try and emulate my hero James Hunt.

Also, ive now had clarification on the after-match Platinum Suite situation.

After games the platinum suite is open and available to all fans, the only restriction is that the maximum occupancy is 500. However, the Platinum Suite is not available after the Wigan game but will be for all the others.

  9. Having someone plough lots of his own cash into a club and getting the players in who will bring sucess is not a bad thing, while it lasts. What if the benefactor loses interest/dies/gets bored/runs out of money? The drop from there is massive. Look at Gretna FC and Doncaster RLFC.

The Sheffield Eagles Supporters Club - Barrow Branch informes me that Mr Johnston says his ambition is to see Barrow play in Super League. In all in favour of a cumbrian team in SL, especially in place of the illegal Crusaders. But if theyre going to play in SL, best get building a new ground stat.

  10. Just a reminder about the coach to Leigh on the 25th April.

We currently do not have enough bookings to run this coach, if you want to go but have not been able to book it yet please contact me and i will arrange to meet you at either the Featherstone or Wigan games.

    Prices are:

    Adults:

  11. Thought you were dry now :O

I am dry. Mr Spooners do a fine range (one) of alcohol free lagers.

If it rains too much over the weekend, waterlogging will be a big problem.

  12. That's not what I've heard, he's always been into snickers!!!! Thonging about it!!!!!! With all good wishes from the Reverend Dr. William Archibald Spooner......

I prefer Mr Weth A Spooner......

  13. Who are you having kick the goals? With no Woodcock or Coleman, doesn't that leave Mitch?!

Mitch, or even Tangi. Tangi kicked at Barrow last year.

    My team would be:

    Woodcock

    Taluapapa

    Ropati

    Yere

    Barnett

    Lindsay

    Brooks

    Howieson

    Cook

    Stringer

    Szostak

    Exton

    Green

    Thackeray

    McDonald

    Barlow

    Hepworth
