Scuse my ignorance but what trophy did Leigh win a few years ago after destroying a team in extra time? That seemed quite unflattering.
Didn't they beat Whitehaven in the Championship (presumably then NL1) final in extra time. Gutted for Haven that day - but Leigh sure went to town in extra time, fair play.

Sky know that its going to draw a massive audience so they probably don't need to advertise it. They do need to push the sports that they have paid loads of money for that don't get the audiences.
Maybe, but it's not like Chelsea vs Arsenal is going to be struggling for viewers so it's not particularly balanced in that sense.
Also just as a piece of information - I think Sky's magazine is one of the biggest print publications in the country reaching more homes than any other magazines just by the sheer number of subscribers. Regardless of if you think print media is currently relevent or not, or however many people chuck it straight in the bin - the magazine reaches an impressive number of people and coverage in there can do only good

Not that one could tell from the title, but it is already being discussed at length on this thread - http://www.totalrl.com/index.php?showtopic=209170&st=0

Did i not tell you this only last month... but was shot down by all the saints fans and bradford fans...
It's been all over the Bradford boards for months. Nostradamus, you ain't.
PS - How is the Bulls' re-signing of Fielden going. You told us he was at Odsal inking the contract the other week and then you went suspiciously quiet on the matter...!

How are they a moneyspinner for clubs when they're usually in a different set of colours than the club's own ones? I'd have zero interest in buying a jersey in different colours, I think a variation of the club's colours would be far more appealing.
Fair enough if you don't want to buy an away kit, it's your choice and nobody is forcing you. But it's rather illogical to assume that if you think it everyone else does! They are a moneyspinner for clubs regardless of if you like it or not purely by the fact that they keep being made and people keep buying them - otherwise clubs would have given up years ago.
-
How does/would golden try work? I presume if you score a 2 or 1 pointer before the end of "Golden Try" that will eventually win the game at the end of that specific period presuming the scores aren't still drawn and a try isn't scored
What if in the extremely unlikely event you go ahead through penalties by more than 4/6 then the trailing team scores a try in that period? Do they automatically win? I know it matters little, but it's been bugging me all morning.
-
plus there's also a highlights show on BBC2, but I think might be before you get back?
That will be on iplayer as well if it's any help
-
The thing is the away kit is only a moneyspinner most of the time, a lot of the time clubs wear away kits when they are away even when there is no clash to give value for money for the fans that have forked out for them. I believe even if the RFL had said Hudds could wear their home shirt, you can request to wear the away one.
It can even happen the other way around - Bradford requested to wear their away kit at home a couple of years ago as they had hardly worn it away!
-
Imagine if all lower tier RL fans did the same.......
I just did. It was exactly the same as it is now. If you want to protest against Sky, go ahead. If you want to fight against the lack of P&R you are fighting the wrong battle by going for Uncle Rupert

Dealt with the announcement quite well on Sky. Carney looks utterly shellshocked. They mentioned O'Connor was devastated - was he supposed to be there today? Missed the first match EDIT: He's on now, ignore me

Utterly mad and astoundingly tragic piece of news.
I couldn't believe he is the third most talked about topic over on Twitter at the moment in the space of half an hour. Maybe says something about the sheer shock of this news.
RIP Terry.

Quite an interesting thread. I actually don't mind most of the Super League era badges.
Can't remember quite how true this is, but Bradford licenced the design of the Bull from Chigago Bulls, which was quite a shrewd move considering how big a global brand that was in the 90s. Don't know if we still pay them or it was a one off or not - but it shows has the badge does have a bit of history - even if it isn't all ours.

Perhaps Bradford could try locating this bus to erm....Bradford city centre and other areas of Bradford
They are.
Happy to help.
-
Cas were favourites with Wakey second favourites, then it was Salford, Quins and erm can't remember the fifth, it could have been Bradford .
Salford are building the ground, and Quins sorted themselves with the RFL. I only suspect Bradford were listed so Lobby could back them to go down.
Not to sound like an uppity Bradford fan on the backfoot - but it certainly wasn't Bradford who were listed. This board would have gone into meltdown if they had.
-
You also get the chance of those who have watched the 4pm footy game staying in the pub to watch the Rugby afterwards.
True - although people in pubs are not measured in the official ratings. It certainly has a good effect on ratings from our POV though as it's one of the few sports people who watch the premiership won't turn off if it's on after

I thought Wigan had lost home advantage?
Presuming this is a genuine query, That's the following week (if they progress that far). Home advantage is determined by end of season table position in weeks 1 and 2. It's week 3 where it is determined by performance in week 1
-
And on the night Wigan were awarded the league leaders shield, what did SKY sports see fit to show? South African club union.
To defend Sky on this one slightly - they were also pre-occupied showing Euro 2012 Qualifiers for the soccer. Take in the fact that England was on ITV and the rest of the home nations were playing on Sky, it's a case of "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" on Sky's part.
-
Why did you ignore Bradford?
I can only presume it's because the whole place is rough and doesn't actually have rough areas in it?
You chopped out the key phrase "happy to get involved" - nobody is happy to get involved at Bradford, troublemaking or otherwise.

BBC website
I'm presuming from the name that Adelaide Tiger isn't in the UK - and the BBC site doesn't let you watch unless you are in the UK. Usefull if anyone is stuck in work or whatever though
-
It's also a disadvantage for the club in the sense that they can say to sponsors we have "x amount of season ticket holders" but with this system there is a chance ###### all will turn up at less attractive fixtures. Of course there is always that chance with Season Tickets as well, but the point is a season ticket screams "loyalty and regular attendance" to potential sponsors, something these Flextickets don't come close to achieving.
Good idea in principle and good luck to anyone who tries it. As someone above said Leeds have been doing similar offers for a while - as have other clubs (The Bulls were doing in the middle of every season at one point)

Welcome to the forum!
Those designs are nice, but quite unfortunately not official if you take a read of them. Shame as they are quite good - although the home one is similar to the one we had in 2007. Not a bad thing though, one of the best designs we have had in recent years.
Wierdly some real prospective Bradford designs for next year were on an episode of Panorama about business a few weeks back!

firstly everything is relative..
secondly.. if you get him on a normal day i always think he is very good.. when they catch him at the end of a match and he is running on adrenaline etc he is terrible as he gabbles etc.. but when he is in a studio etc he always seems pretty good to me.
And then try comparing them to interviews on tape from when he first broke through at Bradford. To say he's come on leaps and bounds since then is a vast understatement!

I think only one club outside the top two has made the GF before - never mind winning it.
It's happened 3 times with the club in 3rd IIRC - Wigan in 2003, Bradford in 2005 (the only team as it stands to win the comp from outside the top 2, so it has been done) and I think Hull in 2006? The last one I'm not 100% on.
Edit: I was wrong, Hull were 2nd in 2006, so I think only twice. If we are likely to see a team in 3rd below get there again, this year is the most likely so far
Is Grand Final in 3D?

They are also at Chelsea vs Arsenal on the Sunday I think. Probably a bit of a logistical nightmare considering they probably dont have that many cameras. It is poor do after previously having said they'd do the GF in 3D though
