It has to be a ' one fits all ' , but for me it also should be a ' equal punishment rule ' as well , in that if as we saw in the Miloudi - Worthington incident , if somebody provokes a Punch with serious foul play , they receive the same punishment , be that a yellow ,a red , or a ban

I dont see that it needs to be a one size fits all especially with each game on video but that is the route the RFL is going down now. Its lazy on their behalf if you ask me, like in the Miloudi incident the doctor on the field did not deem him unfit to return to the field and did not even feel the need to do a HIA yet some people on here have Miloudi close to death. That for me is where the common sense bit comes in and they should take the full incident in to account and they box off what happened before and its simply looked at in isolation instead of like in this case where Miloudi probably got what he deserved but ended up with the least punishment. Something does not sit right with me when that happens.

Beyond belief! After 60+ years involved with RL i feel like walking away from the game at this level.

Ive seen a lot of similar comments this week. Its a tough sport and things do boil over but at the moment all the disciplinary are trying to do is santise the sport and its not like its changing players actions because we still see bans coming for the same things week in and week out. No wonder the sport, especially at the top level, is getting boring to watch with teams all playing the same robotic style at least every now and again we would see a dust up that would liven it up for a little bit now we can't even have that for fear of long bans and the product heads further towards been unwatchable.

    Could be worse BO 🤣

That was mad but the worse thing is the ref didn't send him off at the time. Not quite sure what Foster is thinking there.

  4. It just wasn't that sort of game and out of the late hits I think only 1 was given as a penalty. I thought they had eased off with some of the bans mid way through the season but when pushing someone a fraction of a second late is not getting a penalty on the field but is worthy of a ban then something is wrong.

The club is now owned by people who really want it to succeed.

They are not spending beyond there limit.

Good times are happening at Cougar Park.

    More signings in the pipeline.

Looking forward to seeing Keighley back in the Championship. Would have been nice to see Muzza playing against us but looks like this is going to be his last season as the rumor seems to be strong he is the new Fax assistant coach.

you have medical training yet defend a player that could potentially have caused life changing injuries to another player?

What potential life changing injuries could have been caused by what Gwaze did? Im puzzled by this one. Ive said many times if the player was lying on the floor as RP says then Ive no problem with the ban at all. The fact is the player was not lying on the floor and had about as much chance of having a neck or spinal injury as someone just walking around normally. If he has concussion then lifting him has no chance of causing life changing injuries and at a very worse case he has a cracked skull and lifting him will also make minimal difference.

Now lets take a case of a hit off the ball and the player is sparked out on the floor, that is a very clear case of risk to health by moving the player who with any potential whiplash injury could have serious back or neck injuries. The two cases are night and day apart and should not carry the same ban.

You can't have a 1 ban fits all for every case, what next ban any player who dares to roll a player on his side if he is knocked out? It certainly carries more risk than what Gwaze did but hey ho.

  7. Just watched the game back and I don't think York were that bad it was just our defense was really outstanding. York were clearly trying different things but they simply were not coming off for whatever reason. Fax probably bombed 2 or 3 tries as well. Very happy after watching that, I remember people writing us off after our start to the season but once the pitches started to harden up we were always going to be one of the teams that made big improvements and in Keyes, Jouffret, and JWH I think combined we have the best pivots in the league.(don't @ me 🤣)

Back on topic, I can only express my own opinion so here goes, Fev will be to good for York, Barrow and Fax after watching last night's game I honestly do not think think that Fev will finish anywhere but second in the final placings and the Final will be at the LSV between Leigh v Fev, and as has been said many times about 2 horse races in whatever sport, anything can happen in a final, injuries to key players, the bounce of the ball or even a refereeing decision, there is all to play for and as I say I can't see Fev slipping up on not finishing second.

I think you may have been the only person suggesting that Fev wouldn't finish 2nd. 😃

Fev will finish 2nd and the main spot to get now is 3rd which will give the easier of the play off ties to start as 4th V 5th could be really tight and theres not much in way of reward for the winner where as getting 3rd I think both Batley and Fax will see Fev as a winnable game. Im not sure what we can take out of last nights game that says that Fax wont trouble Fev at home in a game that will likely be meaningless for Fev but could be for 3rd place for Fax and given Fev's form and the injuries they seem to be picking up they do look vulnarable. Its obvious they don't struggle to score points but by the time they get their next 3 games out of the way they will only have the 3rd best defense in the league. So yeah the obvious final is Leigh V Fev and who knows maybe Fev get desparate and start trying to bring players in but Fev for the moment are getting closer to the chasing pack than they are to Leigh.

True but they keep everything they make.  Fax dont,  if you dont get the rev you are kneecapped.

To be fair though at those prices and with the discounts they won't be making much if anything but it looks like they are doing it as a loss leader hopefully to pay dividends down the line by attracting a new fan base that will stick with the club. Time will tell if it pays off for them.

20 quid is alot of money.  I honestly dont know why fax are struggling.  Some clubs are thriving  (Barrow, Keighley, hell even Cornwall) . Fax have been outside top flight for a long time.  Ox can tell me if Fax get rev from stadium,  if not,  then I can see why ticket prices are high.

Fax don't get a penny from the stadium. Also I don't mean this to sound harsh but is there much to do in Barrow? I know there really isnt much in Keighley and that will play a small part. I think it also makes a huge difference that despite it being a "community" stadium we can't even get kids playing on the pitch let alone any other teams so there is that disconnect as well. Its not rocket science, get a kids tourney on the pitch before the game and charge parents £10 so it s abig discount to watch the main game and to watch their kid and instantly you have a few more people in the ground. We simply can't do anything like that which is a joke really.

Having heard poor reports of attendance (again), the important question seems to be, "how do we get people to care/turn up to league games".  Call me negative if you want.

Its a fair point. Halifax as a club have been proactive trying things and we have a very good team yet its a core fan base of about 1200 that turn up each week. We have hada number of concerts on recently at the piece hall and I know a number of fans who have gone to them at the expense of the rugby and to be honest you can't really blame them when they know they can still either watch the match on TV or watch a replay of the game the next day.

I dread to think how Emma rated our food. 🤣

  12. After the game away to York I really saw nothing that suggested they would come to the Shay and beat us so tonight pretty much went how I expected but we were quite a bit off with the ball tonight and we have played better than what we served up with the ball but I thought our defense was outstanding. I didn't realise we defended 7 sets on our line, I just know it felt like 15 minutes where we simply did not have the ball.

I do think York were in a little bit of a false position as I see both Fax and Batley as better than them but to be fair to them they have been winning games so they were certainly in with a shout of 3rd but that was pretty convincing by us without been at our best.

On the crowds they are really disappointing, I think its our best team since 2010 and we play some brilliant rugby but its hard to get people to spend £20 to come and watch us especially when there seems to be so much else going on in the town at the moment which is a shame.

But there was no way Gwaze knew that, not at all. He may have thought he hadnt banged his head, or may have thought the risk was miniscule, but he didnt know for certain.

When was the last time you saw a player seriously injured from a fist fight on a rugby field where the player had not been clearly knocked out by a punch? I honestly can't remember one, I presume Gwaze saw the fight as everyone else did and then when Miloudi made his way to the ground presumed he was faking it to try and get Worthington sent off(Worthington was getting a red anyway). Miloudi was not in a position where lifting his shirt could have caused further injury and that will be part of Halifax's case when it eventually gets heard. Hopefully the panel take in to account that Halifax have already punished the player as well by not playing him last week and not playing him tonight.

It’ll be interesting to see what the outcome of the disciplinary is . From gwazes’ point of view I don’t think he will learn anything more from a 2 match ban  or an 8 match ban but perhaps the rfl want to send a message out to the rest of the players . I think the grading of the offence is out of kilter with the other decisions made this season .

Yeah definatley. Its going to be interesting as well with it getting pushed back a week and I wouldnt be surprised to see 5 or 6 games which still in context is about 3 or 4 too many in my opinion.

Don't be to sure about Fev having nothing to play for, if Leigh beat Fev at the bash and Batley remain undefeated for the rest of the season albeit they have go to York and Fax and play Barrow at home they will be one point behind Fev going into the last fixture that is unless Fev lose or even draw to someone else having to play York at home and Barrow away, Leigh play Batley at Home that day, so it could be Leigh if they decide so could make some "tactical selections" and rest a few Batley win and Fev lose to Fax Batley finish second.

I think that Fax could at best only finish 3rd, the 2 points behind Batley now will make it near impossible to finish second, unless Fev make a hoolies of the run in.

Nice spot. I think Fev have 2 defeats in them at worst looking at their fixtures so it makes the Fax V Batley game look like a huge game for both teams. For Fax that defeat at home to Widnes in the monsson looks like a huge loss.
