  1. I remember John Monie being asked in a post match interview about Offiah being suspect in defence and his answer was basically " he is paid to score tries and I have others to do the defending".I think his partnership with his centre Gene Miles is one of the best I have ever seen.

  2. Just got back in from the game and must say it was a very entertaining and hard fought encounter.

Town eventually went down 22-32 against opposition from the League above them but should take pride in how they never gave up until the final whistle and served up some quality tries for the crowd.Number 16 ( I think Nicole Stewart ) had a fantastic game in both attack and defence and was easily the best player on either side today and I would honestly say if you have the time available make your way down to Derwent Park and give these lasses your backing and at only £5 admission it was worth every penny.

  3. If it is the one I am thinking of it is a Union Jack with Town on it and is just about on the halfway line in popular side. I have seen the stewards ask for it to be removed a few times and it usually seems amicable.

  4. Very entertaining match and I can see improvement every game we play so hopefully we can avoid anymore injuries and have a good go at League 1 this season.

Unfortunate we have Oldham up first but I can see us being very competitive this year with what is mainly a squad built with local talent.

  5. Maybe what they meant to write was Town pay their wages.

Unlike Haven who seem to do this on a Merry Go round we took the difficult decision to ask the players to take a pay cut to ensure the Club saw the season out and players at least got some wages. To their credit most agreed to this which was admirable and to me showed a we are in this together mentality while others left which was also understandable.

I know which Business plan I prefer and as our season up in the Championship showed the gulf between the have and have nots is getting larger and to be able to compete up their you need very solid structures in place.

I do believe that we have a hard working board and group of volunteers who are putting in a lot of hours to ensure those solid foundations are in place as running the club successfully is about more than just putting a team on the Pitch with a  Poop or Bust mentality but looking at it longer term and making it a family day out rather than just a 80 minute game.

Pulling in crowds of over 1000 with little or no away support while we are in a development period shows they are getting something right and we seem to have unearthed a couple of real potential gems on the playing front who will only get better and we also need to get Sabuety signed on a longer contract if at all possible.

  6. Was a difficult watch yesterday and I thought both teams were pretty poor but it is where we are at the moment.

We gifted the win to Oldham rather than them winning it IMO and one positive for me was seeing Malik back in with Caine as he was going really well before his injury and looked good yesterday considering how long he has been out.

  7. Really looking forward to this game as it will be the first time this season I have been able to get to a game.

I am sure it will take a little while to get to know some of the new faces but listening to some friends I will not be disappointed with the style of play we are going for under Muzza.I must say as well that I am delighted to have Tom Curwen and Blaine Marwood back as both are exciting to watch and neither take a backward step.

Always interesting playing the Amateurs as the NCL has some very good players in it now and it will be a great occasion for them so we must not be complacent but it would be nice to have a bit of a Cup run this season to bring in some much needed revenue for the Club.

  8. Really please to have Stevie sign again as he is an absolute warrior and Fitzy deserves his chance at York and I honestly think he will get even better with them as he will be playing alongside better quality players.

I have knocked players over the years for leaving but Fitzy gave 100% in every game with Blue and White running in his Veins and has worked hard to be playing at the highest level he can.

  9. Did himself no favours this season with his weight and I thought he had a very average season for us. Cannot see him playing at 6 for Haven probably 13 or front row. Has the ability to be a great Championship player but defo needs to get fitter.

I think you're getting me mixed up with someone else. Yes you can come on here and quite a few of you have. Out of curiosity can you tell me how many Town fans are on the Haven forum during derby week

Probably none as I have tried many times over the last couple of years to join but never get accepted.

Not sure what they are worried about letting people join but I find the vast majority of people on our Forum have good valid points and plenty of healthy banter and it is very easy to spot the Trolls and they are easily silenced by not engaging with them.

Thanks for the updates lads, as painful as they are.

What crowd turned out to be disappointed again.

It's the first time I have really done that from a game but at half time when I read that it was not on Radio Cumbria I thought I might as well try and do a real time update for those that could not be there.

First half was dire with both sides showing why they are both going down.

We did come to life a bit in the second half but cannot understand why we could not have shown that fight for the full 80 minutes.

But it could be worse when you see York getting 100 put on them that shows the total imbalance in this league now.
