Nice to see Dec back at training, hopefully the break at Oldham will have done him good.
Possibly why we've let davies go to haven?

Plays for Millom doesn't he?
Played 2 games since he left town. I belive even the Millom lads were surprised and took back seeing him train with barrow

I don't buy we were to late to sign players, we should have been talking to players before the season ended just on the slight chance we got promoted.
I think that argument stood up initially at the start of the season but when were hearing it used as an excuse in June, when others managed to recruit when needed far quicker/easier, it gets harder to stomach.

Apart from a few home games this season where we've been completely blew away. we've had good territory and possession to score a hell of a lot more tries that we have. The lack of creativity when near the opposition line is shocking. Either a slow ponderous ball out the back or most common is try and barge our way over from play the ball.
How Walker hasnt been given more game time is one of the biggest mysteries.

Having said that I might get a response from a snappy chap who calls us fellow forum friends "keyboard warriors".....wow the cheek - tell you what mate I've been a Townie for 60+ years - never been involved in any form of sponsorship, or other stuff, with our main rivals Whitehaven. 100% loyal to Town and never will divert from that (even after this seasons team efforts) so don't wave your finger and call me a KW....I'm more committed to Workington Town RLFC then you'll ever be marra.
Whilst nobody can ever criticise the efforts of volunteers of the club for what they do. This does not mean the PAID members off staff are exempt from criticism when under performing. Im sure there's alot on here who kept the club alive over the last two years with not accepting ST refunds, paying into fan led initiatives, 'virtual pints' etc etc.
Come down and follow your local team. We need you. But only if you don't criticise us

No doubt CT has bought time and patience with what he managed to achieve last season. However, for an attack minded former half back, its inexcusable how awful we are at getting points on the board. In most games we get decent territory and serve up utter dross everytime. Said it all when alot in popular side were calling for us to take the 2 points when it was 26-0
Doran hasn't been the same player since Barrow away in mid May. In all honesty I think only Cus, Fitzy and Caine can put hand on heart and say they couldn't have done anymore. I noticed at one point in the 2nd half only Jake Bibby was trying to motivate the other lads

In short. I won't be back for a while.
Time and money is to precious to be spent coming away feeling fed up every other week
-
Take it the French lads can't have landed in time.

Result expected. Performance not. After the show we put on against barrow AND having a week off, shipping over 60 points is unacceptable.
Only minor positives I see are Glen Riley getting a try. And Clegg playing outside Curtis got a couple.
Let's hope the two loanees can make a difference

Maybe not a bad thing

Curtis at centre. Parise the Lord

Like it or not. Whatever version of new stadium we get will help both clubs and be an improvement on the current stadia. Understand that people are sentimental of either ground and have many happy memories. But this stadium is about the future, not the past

Is it a full moon? Are the stars aligning? Was that a pig flying over my house?
We've signed a prop!!
Well done and welcome.

There's a very brief paragraph regarding the stadium from the reds chairman at the end of this article.

So if no bumps in the road, another 12 months before we strike a bat.

Just been reading that he government have now approved the funds for the town deal, £23.1m. Does this now provide us with the missing money to actually get this off the gorund?
Concerning thing when reading on Allerdale's website was that this now enables the projects to enter 'detailed design' stage. Had we not already entered detailed design? If not, could be a while yet until a spade is in the gorund

Gues their results have been average given fulltime squad plus head of Rugby etc
Can he still play prop?

I'd expect a big reaction in their performance after the slating everyone took. However I don't think we can come away with a win. A ground we've always struggled at

Honest interview that was needed. Its the same as we've heard all season though. Think every interview so far has promised incomings that haven't materialised. I'd like to hear a similar interview from the players or captain.
Either way, good comms from the club and we all appreciate Chris's honesty and certainly his tireless efforts

Confirmed as on loan at haven for rest of the season. As well as two from catalan.
Our ability to secure any players, loan or permanent is abysmal.

We have Haven to play twice, London (A) & Dewsbury (H) to play. That's potentially 8 points. Taking us to 10 points in total. Our form and play hasn't suggested we are capable of winning all these. Meaning London would just need 5 more points form their remaining games to stay up (they have a significantly better PD than us)
Writing is on the wall I'm afraid. Should be starting to plan for next season already. The discussion of a merger should be on a different thread but for what my opinions worth, it only works if there is no town or haven. There aren't enough people with an interest in the game to sustain ANOTHER pro/semi-pro club on top of keeping town/haven going. Nor is there the volunteers or players. I fear that the young folk of west cumbria will still be watching league 1 or low end champ rugby in the same aging facilities for years to come.

Sooner we get Scholey back the better.

Some comments are a bit extreme. I agree Henson is one of the first names on the sheet for alot of us. There wernt many who had a good game today, Fitzy, Barnes and O'brien apart.
Remember we are realisticly in competition with Dews, London and maybe Haven. The manner of defeat wasn't good at all today but its how we perform against the teams around us that matter

Without ####### up Barrow's back. They were far too big, strong, fast and had alot more quality than us. 1st half we did have decent territory on a few occasions, but simply don't ask enough questions or look anywhere near dangerous enough. Final plays were poor and short kicking game wasn't good enough.
The short kicking game from carter was brilliant. And in sammut, miloudi and ritson they have quality that will cause any side a problem.
Not a game that will define our season. We're in a 3 horse race that will have 2 losers. But the way the final 10 mins played out was very disappointing.
Heads up lads. Dust yourselves off, pick our battles and we still stand a chance.

need to roll the dice and try some off the cuff stuff with the ball if we are to trouble them today. Hope for a good crowd
