  1. Most interviewers will ask where do you see yourself in 5-10 years time well IMG will say fev could be anywhere including the amateur ranks certainly no chance of super league but hey what odds can I get for IMG to disappear into the wilderness with their outrageous ideas how to run a closed shop rugby league system and then have the nerve to call it a sport. For me I have finally thrown the towel in even cancelled my rovers tv unfortunately I feel many more will follow.

So much for getting rid of the over 30's...

yep he will be 33 come start of next season but it’s probably all fev can afford was hoping the old timers would become a thing of the past obviously not a player for the future

Might I suggest you read it again it’s IMG I want to fail not rugby league but it seems that’s the way it’s heading because of the muppets running rugby league.

  4. IMG is the final nail in the coffin for rugby league all this ridiculous messing about to invent a system nothing to do with sport or a teams ability to succeed it’s just sheer lunacy and I can’t wait for it to fail.  May the last team out switch the lights off.

I've played ,coached watched and had sons at Pro rugby league clubs for 45 years plus . But now I've had enough of the farce ,will never go or watch another game .

you won’t be on your own dwindling crowds in championship games next season excepting for the odd team who may be lucky to hang on. I can see fevs crowds suffering maybe average 1500 -2000

I agree, we do need to freshen things up after recent failures but this guy could change a game in an instant, with his aggressive/determined running. I'll miss watching him and I hope none of our close rivals pick him up, could come back to haunt us 👀

fev seem good at making bad decisions and getting rid of JD is another one I can only see him giving rovers some pain in the future maybe back to eagles but best of luck JD you have been tremendous far better than many players fev have accumulated over recent years.

  7. Unless a multi millionaire pops up not a chance in L but there is always the possibity of either a breakaway from superselfish league  or more likely the death of IMG.

Games dying a slow death only half a dozen clubs may succeed thanks to moneymen with too much money and half of them will be foreign clubs.

Who is next for the departure lounge cas salford or even london broncos.

I think a three way merger of fev cas an wakey which I hate the thought of could give leeds wigan saints etc a run for their money.

    Going well the IMG expansionism

Expansion has never worked and never will in rugby league unless you refer to the future of maybe a dozen rich clubs spread around the world in a league of their own there just is not the demand for it in the UK . London did well to beat us and I applaud their efforts but alas it’s only a matter of time after more name changing ideas before they fall by the wayside.

  9. I feel the squad must change considerably as the few top players we have eg hankinson will most likely depart and the home crowds next season may be far lower than this baring the likes of bradford and wakey matches following the failure of not reaching super league again.

For me super league for fev is dead and buried with any successful future dependent upon the success or failure of img the later most likely. Let’s face it the game is on it’s a…se and has been getting worse every year so progression looks null and void only way forward is backwards to the way things used to be.

If you still want to watch rugby mainly as a sport instead of a business then it’s amateur level you need to watch.

Why did most clubs below s.l. vote for img when they get nothing out of it? They would be better off breaking away, looking after themselves which most do anyway, have nothing to do with d.r., you will probably find the s.l. fringe players going to championship clubs just for a game of r.l. let s.l. look after themselves, which the selfish twelve do anyway.

Been saying breakaway for years let the so called 12 super league clubs keep to themselves whilst the rest form 2 decent divisions. Super league can then have the challenge cup all to themselves based on 12 clubs taking part. Enough of that it’s not sour grapes but img will fall by the wayside for sure just like all the other useless ideas.

Cant wait for the penny to drop with of all these calls for elitism and expanding ideas to fall flat on its face.

  11. The main problems are twofold firstly with no reserve team rovers have never seemed to play a settled best first team with the also rans playing in the reserves which has resulted in persistent chopping and changing baring injuries. Alex F always said play your best 11 players every game none of this trying to keep everyone happy. Put the also rans out on loan and if they prove good enough they will walk into the first team let’s be honest rovers always have old players ready in the departure lounge.

Secondly do not employ players who have no intention of going full time as it’s certainly not in their best interests to get promoted to super league. If we have a mix and match full/partime training may become very difficult getting them all together at the same time i.e. sorry boss I’m on the night shift can’t come to training etc.

Finally Im struggling to see who rovers might now hold on to but some serious deadheading is called for and no doubt the few top performers may want away or maybe just sit tight getting easy money in the championship instead of going up against super league every week.

I for one didn't think we'd beat London. I said to Martin Vickers on the way in 'Let's hope you're scanning a ticket next week'

'Of course we will be' was his reply.

I am the world's greatest pessimist (although Robin will, as I'm sure he'll admit run me to a close 2nd) but you just get a feeling all sometimes. I've been urging people not to say 'we will put 30 on them' or 'at least we'll have home advantage in the final'.

A little over a month ago on the forum our fans were gloating over the fate of Cas.

    Nothing is decided in August!

All bragging does is create a facial omelette. We never learn from past experiences, some as little as 12 months ago....

The game was almost a facsimile of last year v Batley. 2nd best for 60 mins then throwing the ball about, but it being too little to late.

I personally have seen Rovers win the league and the cup, it's the younger generation that I feel for, my 11 year old boy, and I daresay many others were beyond disappointed that they won't be seeing their team at the top table. I'm a bit more pragmatic (pessimistic) in that watching any sort of Featherstone Rovers after April 1995 was a bonus. That said ....

Last night the best team won and the scoreline almost flattered us in the end.

Their tries were soft to say the least, Alex Walker, a player that we outed a couple of years ago scored two very simple tries past our left centre position with hardly a hand laid on him. Their second try could so easily have been kicked dead.

Our attacked lack punch, half backs didn't create, and what was evident was the fact that we didn't break a tackle until the hour mark.

Have we got anyone that can go the length of the field?

Their outside backs especially Grant and Macani were rapid. Time and time again this season, and last we've conceded by our wingers being outpaced, most notably by Halifax, several times.

I cannot for the life of me see why Connor Jones got so little game time, Craig Hall, Craig Kopsczak and Dane Chisholm weren't in the 17. Aekins has been a great servant this season but not as a stand off.

The biggest disappointment for me was the realisation of what this game stood for. I honestly don't know the direction the club will go in now.

The Chairman must be sick to the back teeth of sinking money in to the club. The stadium is amazing when you look at the dumps in the five towns, The CEO was stating recently that there is no other team as well equipped as Featherstone to go to the super league, we've even got Moretti in the bar now instead of the usual pish, but I fear that this was our last chance of SL football and that the light has finally gone out.

    spot on

  13. just hope skys odds of fev 1-6 turns out to be right then again hull were 1-4 in 83 and look what happened. Although London can be very good it’s all down to rovers not making lots of mistakes and stop risky passes and dropped balls but then again it will probably be down to bad refereeing whatever the result. Need our defence especially wide out to get a grip and not let in soft tries.

    UTR

  14. I honestly thought London were the dark horses before the playoffs started and they have done fev before if my memory serves me right but maybe they will do a Leeds united and think they are much better than they actually are obviously eagles have problems getting thrashed 42-0
