Glad to see the back of him as I feel fev was just a temp job and he probably has other options available. Always was a top notch player who I liked but coaching abilities seem muddled so let’s give Fordy a chance just hoping he starts picking his strongest squad and we get back to our wingers scoring tries for fun just like the best teams do.

I think that Long has had more than enough resources to play better rugby, and the team hasn’t improved either. I’m sure he did his best, but he’s not been dealt a poor hand in my view.

M for what it's worth in my  humble opinion I agree SL has had some brilliant players at his disposal unfortunately they are all in the pack and the outside backs when it comes to the half's only ryley who has long gone was a class act the rest Ford Lacans and chizzy the clubs having a laugh

  3. yep poor management and toulouse will be really hoping they meet fev in final playoffs. I think longy must have a pack of cards with each players name on them and throws them in the air to decide who’s going to play today. They look as though they have never trained together. Another really p poor show today. oh well another wasted year again and marks money has been wasted just like leeds united. fev are getting worse each year not better.

We’ve got a few harder matches coming up after a weeks break and for me, we need to be playing the strongest possible side to enable us to have an idea before the playoffs. Hopefully Ford might be fit for the Fax match.

longy seems to like changing the team regularly trying to keep players happy but it ain’t working get a settled side baring injuries and stick to it as at the moment it’s pair any 2 from 3 which is causing problems and his sub methods are rather poor.

Anyway I just can’t see him at fev next season.

    Latest from TO

Sylvain Houles says that he has a special group of players and has every belief that his Toulouse team can go all the way to the MPG and win promotion to Super League. Especially after beating playoff chasing Halifax, Featherstone, Sheffield and Bradford in the last four weeks.

Can’t argue with that for me Toulouse are favourites only some big spending by rovers will change that but hoping I’m wrong utr.

Just what has hardcastle got to do to get a game I feel he should be one of the first names on the team sheet always gives a good account of himself and one of the few players who could meet super league standards. He ought to consider leaving fev as obviously longy doesn’t rate him that highly but I’m hoping he will get some time on the pitch today as an interchange but should be in the starting 13.

  7. Like most things it’s going down a slippery slope. The sport once graced by brilliant tacklers just like fevs peter smith has now become a game of no longer just trying to stop an opponent with good sound round the leg tackling to one of let’s see how much we can get away with using brute force to cause as much pain as possible especially certain super league clubs ask tubby.

just hope it’s a one off like when we beat leigh before they bought a lot of star players be nice if rovers could follow suit. I think fev need a motivational speaker to gee them up.

just to clarify as my idea of a motivational speaker is to help out sean long although he was a great player and maybe a very good coach unfortunately he is brian mcdermott’s double when he talks about the game i.e. very dull and boring still if he gets the job done that’s fine by me but he certainly doesn’t inspire me when he rambles on.

I've listened to so much sh*te from Kyle Amor for the last 3 days I will have to have the sound down tomorrow for sure.

Thought it might have been just me but defo Amor is enough to put anyone off listening to rugby league for life his comments are mostly laughable it’s time for via play to get rid of him and give us all a break.

Last season we had a coach who used squad rotation. No matter who was available McDermott used squad rotation. I don't think he knew exactly what his first 17 players were. Move onto this season the coach is using squad rotation mainly due to injuries, although there are examples of playing players out of form. One lesson to learn from Leigh last season is have your first 17 and barring injuries keep playing those players. It's the only way to develop partnerships and a solidarity within the team. Hopefully as players return from injury that is what we'll see.

bang on as alex ferguson says you always play your best 11 players

  11. Well I think the chairman’s term is right on the money and yes I agree fev have been dishing out poor performances since keighleys thrashing. We are supposed to have a top squad even with the unfortunate injuries and it’s getting a hard watch. Is it the players or the way they are being coached to blame because without a shadow of doubt briscoe should have been subbed just like the Bradford game when certain players were not up to the task. A sad day for fev let’s just hope some rockets up backsides does the trick.
