That's not the question I asked though is it? We know Toulouse didn't pay for Wakefield's transport because we've seen the photo of the jet they hired.

Did Toulouse say to Wakefield "nah we're not paying you anything because you're super rich", or did Wakefield inform Toulouse they'd make their own transport arrangements?

Toulouse pay the transport like for all the clubs and wakefield pay the extra to come with a private jet.

So if thats right what is the guys problem ? Such a fanastic club will soon be the top of the pile and should breeze 15 IMG pts. Promotion will happen naturally for the club within the normal framework of the game if not this season but in a couple of years more. He just needs to be patient, he knows what is required to get there so get on with it, grow the club and stop wanting preferential treatment

They allready have preferential treatment : they pay flight , hôtel and good for all

    Give over.

The situation regarding the final is now a bit of an omnishambles but I expected a full house of around 7500 if all the ducks had lined up correctly.

The crowd at last years final, between Toulouse and London, that was similarly reliant on home support, was 3,974.

Leigh v Batley in 2022 at LSV was 7,233.

The crowd of last year final Toulouse / london was 6810

He's a remarkable player and indeed the Championship has a number of players defying Father Time at the moment. Paul Sykes turned out for Dewsbury at Odsal on Friday at the age of 43! Misi Taulapapa has been playing for Doncaster (and also Rochdale in league 1) at the age of 42. Even today, if Stack plays at Fev, he won't be the oldest forward on the field, as James Lockwood is almost two years older. All these players are a tribute to the fitness of modern players as well as their own personal dedication.

    Hansen for toulouse is 38

A match v Leigh a few years ago now. Carl Hall kicked a penalty to win by 2. Leigh took a good few hundred fans. Could have been 2018.

This match was played in Albi in a 12000 sits stadium and organized by the club of Albi. I was at the sponsor réception and we were 650 belote the match. I rewatch the match today, and the grandstand was 3/4 full. The opposite stand was 1/3 full. The official attendance was 5350 .

Any club in SL needs to be sustainable. We have tried on the spot expansion numerous times with toil and tears and it’s got us nowhere.

Leigh are getting it right. Wakefield (with the nudge of relegation) have finally spent a pound on Belle View and So have Cas.

Toulouse (although a fabulous City) is still a white elephant dominated by football and kick and clap. I’ve been there. Crowd announced as 4000 and I could not get to any more than 900, and they have already disappeared once. Catalans have it spot on. If anyone thinks that Toulouse have more to offer any current SL side or Wakey for that matter are deluded. Clubs are turning the corner. We might break the mould in the next 5 years of some team breaking into the big 4 on merit.

Toulouse to answer your question don’t need convincing at grass roots level. It should be a guarantee. If they can’t provide it, go away as it is in my opinion the future and the most important part of our game. Invest in grass roots, not expansion !

When was this match with 4000 annonced and only 900 ?

Catalans have nothing to do with the pole espoirs, they even ask their players to quit the pole in the 3rd year to concentrate on training with them, Toulouse help out pole France in Toulouse,  training sessions with them and the Toulouse coach goes in sometimes to coach etc. Toulouse have a centre de formation. I've no idea if either club go into schools.

    They do

I don't remember Walmsley receiving a pass on the right hand side? Is Gale capable of passing from left to right?

With Johnstone on the left next year think Powells left side tactic could see him the top try-scorer by a country mile. But if that doesn't work, Powells teams really struggle to use his right hand side.

Think that will be Wakeys only defeat this season.

    Bulls in semi ?

100% this, it's been a massive part of the narrative of the Championship this season.

Theer are numerous examples, Widnes seemed to be one of the teams that had fewest absentees during the early part of the season and did really well but haven't seemed quite so good since they started picking up a few injuries. Wakefield have quality amongst their replacements but even they have clearly suffered from missing a few of their key players lately.  Conversely Toulouse have been able to play their squad numbers 1-13 in a few recent games (acknowledging they were misisng Shorrocks this week) and they have been fairly solid as a result.

Toulouse were missing shorroks, marcon, jusseaume, bretherton, pelissier, sita and then lyvett and belmas during the match.

So if as it seems we will be staying at a 12 club SL and it looks very strongly like Wakefield will replace London,  so for Toulouse to get into SL they will have to replace one of the incumbents, do you think there would be a preference from the SL community as to which club that would be? In the not to distant past we had many fans expressing their view that Wakefield were a basket case and needed removing from SL but that reasoning has spectacularly turned around in less than half a season to Wakefield must be in SL, so who do you think will be the flavour of the season this time around for the drop, that is of course if Toulouse are wanted in SL.

    Toulouse again Harry…

Whilst this is the IMG thread, I think that yesterday's attendance in Toulouse shows the 'catchment' area scoring up for what it really is, a complete waste of time, Toulouse are given top marks because there are 500,000+ plus people who live in the area who the vast majority in effect have zilch interest in RL.

What if that small difference in the total points could demote say Cas to the Championship and put Toulouse in SL, ridiculous.

Thank you Harry for spending so much of your Precious Time to say how much you hate Toulouse. We also love you

Only managed to catch up on Twitter, not the best medium to be honest, but sounds like a niggly match. A few bins etc. nilling Batley at home though is a good result.

According to the TO twitter feed someone got put on report for biting, not sure how to read it, either Pélissier bit thé No13 or he got bitten. Nothing on the Batley twitter feed (that needs some work though...it's a bit basic)

    Pelissier got botté
