Would you mind quantifying what they’ll bring to the table?

Is it increased attendances? Will they enable France to become credible opponents for England? Will Sky see more value in the game? Will they bring a French TV deal?

I’m sure a man of your obvious intellect has thoroughly researched this matter and has stacks of supporting evidence.

You seem to know so much about toulouse… do you live there ?

No lies, no damn lies, just the truth if you want to call that a statistic go ahead.

The simple fact is Toulouse played all but one of their scheduled away games this season, circumstances prevented them playing any at home, even though one game could have gone ahead but London forfeited the game, and Fev said they would travel to play their away game but Toulouse denied them the privaledge.

Don't go telling me and moaning that they had to travel to all their games, the club itself and all the players they employ signed up to travel to the UK at least 13 times in the regular season, would you have preferred  they had a walkover in every game been nominated Champions and played only in the play-offs at home?

They asked to join the RFL system knowing they would be travelling A LOT, stop trying to make out they have been hard done by, they haven't.

Having seen the highlights of the Bradford - Toulouse game, I'd say at least one out of Pelissier and Kheirallah won't be playing again this season. The tip tackle on a Bradford player was a fairly severe one, the player lifted well above the horizontal and seemingly thrown to the ground. Kheirallah was sin binned but it looked like Pelissier was at least as much to blame from the limited footage shown.

It was definitely "lifting player into dangerous position", which carries a grading from B to D, and I'd say qualified as throwing the player into the ground, which is a Grade D or E offence - Grade D carries a 3-5 game suspension and Grade E 4-6 games.

I can feel that is what you hope…

I agree with that. As an example, how about this post on the Toulouse Olympique forum, where somebody is clearly trying to stir things up by selectively quoting the Featherstone chairman and calling not just him, but also their fans, "very arrogant".

Of course it has worked a treat and Toulouse fans on that forum have taken the bait hook, line and sinker.

This does look to be a classic example of a poster with a massive chip on their shoulder, so I wonder if your criticism extends to him? His user name of "The Daddy" is just a coincidence, right?

There is no TO XIII forum.

They were lucky to beat Fev last week. Fev were without several regulars including Chisholm, and Toulouse were full strength after three weeks off.  They got away with murder slowing the ruck down.  So I think you are exaggerating.

Ah ok ! I understand now : toulouse win this match because Fev were the best team…. I hope TO players appreciate how luckuy they were…

That's why they're cancelling fixtures against the better sides and playing against the others. Amazing thing this virus, it only prevents them playing when it's convenient.

You are joking isnt it ?

I don't know where people keep getting these rumours from that SL will be increasing the number of teams ??

The existing clubs are already taking a hit financially for the next few years with the reduced TV contract, there's not a cat in hells chance they'll then divide up the smaller pot of money between an additional 2 teams. Thats not them being selfish, thats being practical and trying to preserve what they've already got before bringing in expansion.

There's absolutely no point in expanding to 13, 14 or more teams if you then bankrupt several existing SL clubs in the process.

If the RFL genuinely want a 14 club SL then its up to them to bring in the finances to make it viable either through increased sponsorship or an improved TV deal in 2Yrs time.

Who are you talking about 🙂

Just to add to our woes, the Batley game on July 15th is the latest date that the RFL will agree to, depriving us of a much bigger gate, and hence income, than if it could have been played a few days later.

The Toulouse trip will cost the club many thousands of pounds - a cost that most other Championship clubs have already avoided. If we were to declare that we didn't have 17 fit players available then I wouldn't criticise the club at all, no matter what the sanction.

The trip To toulouse will not cost anything. Toulouse pay for all the clubs coming. Welcome and have few beers whith me after match.

Catalans aren't dominant, They're playing well at the moment and have put a good run together, but they've been knocked out the cup and there's a very long way to go before the GF. They've also been helped by being able to largely field a strong side week after week as they haven't been as badly affected by injuries as a lot of other clubs have so far this year. But as we all know that can quickly turn and they could easily find themselves losing 6 or 7 key players for long periods.

They've been here several time before and aside from their CC win they've always fallen short.

All the clubs are going to be hit by injuries, fixture pile-ups, multiple Covid postponements etc. at some point this year probably leading to a dip in form. They've also still got a fair few difficult fixtures like Saints away (twice), Wire away, Wigan away

So while they're top of SL now lets just wait see where they are come the end of the season.

In all your post, we can feel how match you like the french teams.... sorry to exist !
