YES they did and good to see them gradually getting back up near the top (Some nice football played by them this year) I think at the time they felt that as the NO 1 French team that gave them the right to apply realistically the place is too small.
When they were unbeatable I remember they were a lovely team to watch full of great players and fantastic away support to I remember around 200 coming to Pia on a Monday night once around 15 years ago HAPPY DAYS WONDERFUL MEMORIES:)
Just been told that to attend the championship final on Sunday I have to produce a certificate that I have had 2 jabs (Only one so far the other is booked in 2 weeks time when I am back in Blighty)

How can you say the french game has improved - based on what ?
The national team certainly hasn't, as I've posted previously their results are just as bad now after having Catalans in it than they were before. A decade of their inclusion hasn't improved the national teams competitiveness one bit.
French SL standard playing numbers have only increased marginally (and never will if they only play 5-6 French players a week at the top level), not what was touted as a reason for including Catalans in the 1st place.
As for your comment about "5 times for interesting" - based on what ???
The only thing you've got right in your post is the fact that there are indeed still some British clubs who are pi$$ poor at developing British players, but none of those clubs were parachuted into SL on the promise improving the national team.
You can argue that there should be some sort of rules in place regarding junior development and on playing numbers in their 1st team, and i've made that very argument many times on this board. But having some poor English clubs doesn't in some way justify Catalans inclusion in SL and it certainly doesn't justify the inclusion of another French team just because they're French.
I've also made no secret of the fact that I think licensing is a good concept, it was just badly administered last time. I'd be quite happy to have 2 French clubs in a licensed SL with a reduced quota of say 4 and English/French players counting on that quota for their respective countries. Also making reserve grade and the various junior grades mandatory for a SL license along with other things like quality of stadia, turnover etc.
Sadly none of these changes will happen as long as we have the RFL run by people without the brains (or the balls) to make serious change. A handfull of English clubs will continue to provide the majority of good quality players for SL, Catalans will continue to pack their team full of Brits & antipodeans and the french national team will continue to be poor, England will continue to not have any decent northern hemisphere competition they can play against and will continue to struggle to have enough good quality players to pick from come the tests against Aus & NZ. - Repeat, Repeat, Ad Infininitum !!!
There are currently 40 professionals french players. Most of them very yung. None 10years ago...

But history has shown in to be true ! No matter how well they play during the regular rounds, Catalans crumble come the play-off's
For exemple when they won the challenge cup ?

TO have an aging squad.
Think theres only 3 or 4 players under 30 in their whole squad, be burnt out come the playoffs.
15 players of the squad are 30 or under .

The TO of old would take their eye off the ball, but with Mitch Garbutt now in the team, they have raised their game up a gear. Gigot, Killer, Bergal and Max to come back from injury it looks good. But, it also depends on who gets injured in the meantime. No point having all this experience if you have to rely on baby dracs to fill the gaps.
Junior paulo, ader, armitage, Albert also....

I would be amazed if the Dragons sign him due to well documented disagreements between Bernard and his father.
If he goes to France it has to be Toulouse.
Paul
He would already have signed for toulouse if they were in superleague.

Maybe but the City Council donated a new hybrid pitch for Ernest Wallon costing €4m and which facilitated the TO move into the Stade Toulousain's ground.
That was part of the money normaly put To rebuild the stade des minimes. €4m is pitch, cloackrooms and press room.

The only certainties in the final 17 are:
Mark Kheirallah
Fouad Yaha
Theo Fages
Benjamin Garcia
Benjamin Jullien,
Remi Casty, Alrix da Costa, Julien Bousquet
Interchange: Romain Navarette
I would put Arthur Mourgue in the halves with Theo.
Anybody care to fill in the blanks?

It’s not though is it, Saints and Wigan are a stones throw apart with 100+ years of history. CD v TO would be a fabricated rivalry, initially at least, it takes years to develop proper rivalries.
Rivalry for over 80 years...

Why do they get less than 1,000 for a play off game vs Fev then? Serious question btw, I don’t know where these fans are coming from.
Why do they get 6400 against Toronto then ?

Cool, as could London. In a fairly run comp. But apparently they are judged by different criteria, because, er, well just because
Could it be because london let toulouse buy a private plane, pay Covid test for all of them and decide few days before to stay home. Very fair.... but still have to pay for everything reserved. Sad

Despite your antipathy to Hughes’ Broncos organisation (or lack of), surely you can see the inequity of the RFL only expecting one club in this league to travel to Toulouse? It’s an absolute nonsenseburger of Double Whopper proportions, come on
All the clubs are going to travel to toulouse at the end of quarantine.

Have I got this entirely wrong, or is it not that the Broncos full time status makes them the only team who can realistically fulfil the fixture in France, due to the quarantine restrictions.
The quarantine rules affect all the other clubs differently to London, which is why there's one rule for them and another for the rest. I don't see what's wrong with that.
And since they can fulfil the fixture, they should have done, regardless of the fact that they said they would.

Reading that
If nobody travels to France to play Toulouse
They cannot qualify for the play offs
As they would have played only 50% of games.
Maybe time for British clubs to stick together 1 doesn't travel, all do not travel.
How can you in a season like this have P&R
Toulouse are going To play home matchs in england...
Moving forward. French teams in the U.K. leagues structure
