Great story, sure it will bring up the same old questions, a merged Cumbrian team!
Which would only realistically work as a west Cumbrian ie Cumberland team.
Well said

What about JJ Key? He's big strong yet fast. Dont know why he didn't find favour with CT . Would he not be a good addition to the squad?
In talks with the club would be a big asset. Very fit and powerful.

Big shame if true
Agree totally I'm sure they would be first choice under the new Coach. I could see Marcus going to Barrow Matty maybe Haven . But hey ho that's upto them a lot of the time it's for more money and not game time.

I personally had a crack with him and he definitely won't be taking the job on.

See Town have sacked Chris Thorman, feel sorry for him he's had no money to bring decent championship players in, always liked him a decent coach and bloke.
They didn't Sack Chris he relinquished his post for the betterment of the club. I don't think many of the Workington supporters would have many bad things said towards him. I would say good luck to him at his next post where ever it maybe.

Don’t think Hens would stand in his way.
Why would Town want a un experienced Coach when there will be plenty of available coaches at other clubs .

Lighthowler showed great promise before he got a season ending injury . If fully recovers he would be one of the first to retain . Sad to see Chris go, as I know how hard he tried to make this work . Good luck Chris in your next venture .
Totally agree with u Chris put in lots of hours that he didn't need to do. He tried his best with his hands tied behind his back he's been one of the best this club has had . Good luck to him whatever he decides to do.

I’d be amazed if haven wanted any other than Marcus off that list.
It's all hear say Caine has contract for next year, why would Jamie go to Haven after all the ###### that was shouted at him. Stevie scholey one man club player can't see him moving. If they do move surely Haven will have to lose players. UTT

IMG ,the company leading this review for RFL, are consulting with fans. From what I have read so far, likely they will recommend end of promotion and relegation . That could leave Town forever in League 1!
So get your views in about this and anything else, by responding to their survey TODAY.
YOU CAN FIND LINK by going seriousaboutrl.com
The Rfl don't want 3 Divisions just Super League, if IMG recommend anything it will be I would think 2 Division's. Super League 16 teams and Championship maybe 18 . League 1 will never survive there should be stronger criteria for promotion and relegation like fit for purpose stadiums etc . West cumbria is crying out for a Super League club maybe called Cumberland RLFC we all need to move forward.

Think Town should do what they can to sort the coaching situation out. It’s no coincidence that you have lost 6-7 players due to fall out with Thorman. Gonna be tough to attract local lads now that Hewer has gone and what has gone on in the past. I Would look closer to home maybe Buffer and Doran in a joint coaching role. Yous need to get the good time feeling back.
Its gonna be a long hard slog for the club but I'm sure the board of directors will get it sorted . There are people working very hard behind the scenes to put structures in place they don't happen overnight. I don't doubt that Chris has made enemies and upset Former and present players but that's the nature of the beast. He has been working long hours and has taken a massive cut in his salary along with the players that's credit to his commitment to Workington Town. I serious don't think putting in place 2 present players would at this present time be helpful for the club. The biggest problem was that the club wasn't ready for promotion it came to early I'm sure the club will attract local players in the years ahead especially when they play in a brand new stadium..Good luck to the club and it's supporters

For next year?
Defo for next year and looking into how the club can be run better. It obvious these been mistakes made by the past board and the present board hopefully they will get people with a lall bit of money to back the great club. Volunteers down there are absolutely brilliant but u can't run the club on them alone .

Can't believe the board never negotiated contracts, every club must have a budget,so what are the club going to do to retain players and sign new players for next season, hopefully there's a plan and budget in place?
I'm not naming anyone but the club have in my eyes a great guy who is doing budget's for the players etc.
