With Richardson being on loan, I would assume that Hull KR can't send him to us on DR? Although, if they can't, it makes it a bizarre signing as he'll be sat behind Lewis and May, as Reynolds was, but with no option to play for us.

According to the Op Rules they could, although they'd need permission from the RFL

What part wasn't the truth? I know the club stated that he was taking some time away from the game to focus on his rehabilitation but we can't control what he does after he's left us. He said in his signing video for Oldham that he was intending going home until Oldham came in for him. He's admitted too that he's still a month away from being ready to play, the only thing I've seen that wasn't exactly the truth was that in the interview it was claimed that he had a four-game ban to serve during that time anyway whereas in fact his ban has already been served.

Not sure it has. His leaving was announced on 6th April before what would have been the 1st match of his ban and signed for Oldham earlier this week which I'd have thought meant their match at Hurricanes would count as the 1st?

Until 2 years ago, Wakefield Trinity didn't own a ground to invest in.

Belle Vue was owned by Wakefield Metropolitan District Council (WMDC).

WMDC did not invest in BV.

When the club gained ownership of the ground...well, you can see the results already.

Tell me about Cas tigers though...only the IMG threat has made them get the glitter and glue out.

WT only invested because they were gifted £10m+ not because they suddenly got the urge. Oh, and they only gained ownership of the ground because WMDC put up assets owned by the people of the district to secure a £3m loan......

I don't know if this is a different situation or if the rules have changed, but when Luke Briscoe went on loan to Leeds from us in 2019, we were able to recall him on DR terms.

As for the reason for the loan, could be any number of reasons, but maybe related to salary cap? Jordan Abdull is also officially on loan from HKR to Catalans this year but I don't think anyone is expecting him to return to HKR.

Do you think it will have many tangible benefits beyond the IMG points? Feels like it would've been better to give a deadline of 3,5 or however many years would be feasible, to do the full renovation, rather than give boxes to tick in a <12 month window.

Cas are doing what they have to do, I just find it odd that they have to do it this way.

No. The club have stated themselves that this is merely to gain points.

Problem with bolting seats to a shallow terrace, but fundamentally q decent view isn't a criteria to score points in. The seats are all that matters here so it's a short term points grab and understandably so, especially with the actual improvements in the pipe line. Cas are playing the game that's all.

What I challenge is the theory that money is being spent on the ground to the detriment of the team, which I feel is a line their board are feeding the supporters to keep them sweet. As far as I have read, the ground improvements are coming from the council £2m grant, and the playing budget is a conscious decision to save some cash, safe in the knowledge that London will finish bottom and the seats will score them enough points to retain the SL place.

I'm also wondering where in their PP application they mentioned installing seats in the Princess St stand.....

I meant is there a plan to replace the entire stand if so is putting seating on the crumbling terrace just a temporary measure before that is done or is putting seating on the terracing a permanent thing to gain IMG points.

The Princess St stand will get some new cladding if the new development ever goes ahead but it is planned to then revert it back to standing. And yes it's being done now just to get IMG points

The way I read it, the £100k yearly loss is incurred by the annual repair costs of keeping it as a safe sporting venue, even after the rents. So, yes, past spend won't be recovered. But if Odsal is sold to developers I find it hard to see that they'd only get £700,000k for that site.

What they seem to be looking for is a buyer who will take on the stadium as a sporting venue for the existing tenants (or at least the Bulls) In that circumstance, yes, they'll make a loss.

Reading between the lines, I wonder if the RFL have leaked this either to put pressure on the Bulls to up their bid - or to soften up public opinion for when they sell the lease back to the Bulls at a loss. I can't decide which yet!

ie The RFL have been (and still are) subsidising Bradford Bulls to the tune of ca£100k pa.....around half the total amount of central funding received by L1 clubs in 2022 (and probably a bigger % as of today)

Guaranteed to lose at least £500,000 on any sale, not that one is coming, losing over £100,000 just on maintenance and upkeep, and charging the Bulls an under market rate rent.

Certainly looks like the RFL have been giving a (probably unconstitutional) financial benefit to one of the member clubs for some considerable time......unless the other members have agreed of course.

As York came within 6 points of Toulouse I’m surprised people are picking Barrow to turn them over, are they carrying injuries?

Possibly because Toulouse had a man sent off after 26mins when they were leading 14-0. They'd extended that lead to 20-0 when they had a 2nd sent off in the 64th min. York scored their 14pts in the last 8mins against 11 men....

    That’s the spirit.

Sheffield FC's Chairman seems to think so:
