Just can't wait for Ben Haenow's first album to be released. Another cracker, I'm sure, from the Sico stable.

A bit of help with identification.

I thought the yellow with black spots was a Colorado beetle?

Harlequin ladybirds?
Don't make this cross code. The jailer will be along to move or lock it.

was really happy to see a pair of Song Thrushes in the garden the other morning,it's been a long while
we've got a pair of Dunnocks in the conifers at the bottom and there's a Robin that has taken a shine to the food we put out,the friendly Blackbird has brought a pal with him,and the Starlings are here half a dozen at a time,2 or 3 Jackdaws have been on the garage roof along with the Collared Doves that are nesting nearby, there's a 3rd Wood Pigeon that's arrived which turns up occasionally with the other 2,I thought they might have seen him off.
The friendly Blackbird came down onto the fence whilst I was putting some fruit out and actually caught my ear with his wing,he sat on 1 edge of the feed tray as I had my hand on the other side a matter of inches away
there's something very relaxing about seeing a good crowd of them in the garden at the same time
Leave the rest but shoot the robin.

Michael Nesmith's mother invented what we in the UK know as tippex.

I must admit I have only read the last page of this thread so I'm unsure if anyone else has already mentioned this but Peter Gentle gets sacked on the back of Hull FC shipping 76 points last week and to remedy that they appoint the man who was the defensive coach when they shipped those 76 points as head coach. Great decision that ;-)
Welcome to the crazy world of Hull FC.

Yeah just like hard running prop Paul Anderson has put the shackles on Danny Brough.I only remember Radford as a hard running second rower who never parted - bit like Langley @ Bulls - I cant see him being innovative and will surely restrict Holdsworths impetus.
-
Only two!!! Scandalous. And it'll be topped up by two years if you beat Rervers on Good Friday.

Once the WC is over a certain Brian Smith will be looking for a job.

The Hull FC equivalent of Godwin's Law.At last!
-
Go on say it damn you.I genuinely have no idea what you're on about?
And by the lack of response, neither does anyone else.

I'm sure you could. Sorry for any offence that may have been taken.Believe it or not I do know a thing or two about the game and wouldn't have said it had it not been the truth. I could have also told you myself had I not been in an archive looking at Hull KR's annual reports from 1897-1976.

I stand corrected. Thanks ehb.I think they won the premier NCL within 2 seasons of promotion, beat Swinton in challenge cup, also won the ncl grand final and national cup in same season, and the a team won the Yorkshire cup! so I think he was fairly successful! but obviously this is a different level, however, he is good.

Have East Hull had any success under Radford? I'm sure ehbandit can tell us.Success with East Hull is one thing
-
Cheers EK. I didn't think he had.No and he was never Tim Sheens' assistant at Wests Tigers, he was their stats man.
Sheens' assistants were Royce Simmons and then Steve Georgallis.

There is one amateur club in Wigan that produces more SL quality players than the whole of the city of Hull. If we go down the path of simply signing Hull born players then we'll be in SL 2 before we know it. I do agree about unproven Aussies though, on and off the field. Unfortunately economics dictates that unproven or old is all that the SL will be getting for the foreseeable future.I don't like the fact that Gentle brought over a player from a feeder club in Australia in Miller. I'm glad Pearson is going for Local talent, there must be plenty of young decent players over here without bringing in unproven Aussies.

Was Gentle ever the Kangaroos assistant coach?More from HDM about Pearsons plans for the club. Never thought I would see Paul Cooke involved with the club again.

I wouldn't argue with the local personnel theory if they were actually there and of the right calibre but are Radford and Last the right men for the job? The argument might be that they can't do worse than Gentle but that's just papering over the cracks. It just smacks of knee jerk to me. Hull have time on their side to hopefully find the right man for the job not just one who says farv and narn.

I got dizzy clicking the various links.

Are there any spring chickens in PNG?

as GS said excellent news and great to hear that nations are sharing experiences and aspects of development that may benefit each other. The RLEF conference was also extremely useful. I do not normally like to comment on such things on the internet, but the support, exchange of experiences, ideas and all that was a real treasure trove.

I can't access it at 26 though can I? If RW has any sense he'll be paying into one too.You don't get a pension then?
-
That's my point though Griff. I wouldn't expect anyone seeing or hearing about the sport for the first time ever on Saturday to come out with a comment like "That Tomkins is skilful" unless they had previously heard about him as he had one of his few virtually anonymous games.Tomkins may not have had his best ever game, but when I talk to non RL fans about the game he is almost always the first (and only) name they mention. Like him or not,Tomkins is the nearest thing we have to a rugby league superstar in this country.
