Does anybody know what the injury situation is at the club? JT, Agoro, Astley, Hurst plus others and hopefully none from the HKR mismatch.
-
I've noticed like others that we often go off at a tangent, so I thought let's have a chat page. My chat is, on Sunday at the game I was talking to Sean Whitehead about Blackpool Borough and we couldn't remember the name of their ground. And last night at about 5am I started to think about all of the great Rugby grounds, with memories, that have now gone. Beginning with Watersheddings.
-
Sean can't change that side that thrashed Halifax. Craven must stay at 6 so taking some of the pressure of JD. I can't see us putting another 60+ against them but I expect at least 40.
-
Well it's Wembley next year and now down to the nitty gritty. I just hope for SL's sake we have some bodies back for what will be another hard game. I also hope that we get a decent turnout of fans to give support to OUR club.
-
A week to go and we'll know if we are Wembley bound! I see Featherstone thrashed Widnes today and let's hope they feel a little overconfident about next week. And who knows the plastic pitch could have some repercussions. We can only hope we have JT and Lawton back and who knows if anyone else can come in to fill the gaps all over the place. Depending on the bloke in the middle, I'll take Oldham to win by 12.
-
Lets hope we have our strongest team out to prepare for the semi-final. Come on the Yeds!!!!!!!
-
The interesting aside to this game is the draw for the semi-finals, with both us and Featherstone in the draw, being made BEFORE the game. Hope they bring a few so creating a great atmosphere with the possibility of opening up another stand. Should be a cracker!

So sad to hear of the passing of Tony Finan. Had some great chats with him at The Weavers - about rugby. The world is a sadder place.
-
Well back to the bread and butter games now we have got the CC out of the way. Sadly, yet again the attendance will be low since LB won't bring more than a taxi load. Looking at the games we have had at home, I don't think Batley, York and Barrow brought more than a coach load between them. Hope I'm wrong and the home spectators turn up, but a lot will depend upon which side SL puts out.
-
Well as expected SL has brought back all of the big guns for mission impossible. I only hope we don't get embarrassed and we escape with no injuries. The league is the priority and the dream of Wembley a close second.
-
Well the old enemy are back here this weekend and we can expect yet another nail biter. The big question is what team will SL put out against them. They are no mugs and deserve respect so wholesale changes will only help them. Also, after last weekend's game against Batley there is a need to show the real Oldham. It also needs to be remembered a trip to Wembley is at stake. Oldham by 30. (I meant to say 3 but 30 just appeared.)

Since we are coming to the end of this campaign, who do you think will be retained from the present squad? Some will argue it depends which division we are in but I'd like to have a squad that will win every game in division 1 and holds its own in the championship. I'm sure other teams are putting their 2024 squads together as we speak.
-
What a homecoming it will be. Can't wait for the reception the team will get when they come out for the game. Hope Bill Quinn and Mike Ford come out with the players and enjoy the well deserved moment. Team selection has to include some of the title clinching team, especially those who won't be with us next season.
-
Win this one and we are champions. Sean has a massive headache who he plays and where. Their line speed knocked us off our game there and as good as Ellis was yesterday, they will stifle him. So, who plays at 7 is a massive choice to make. Our forwards, whoever he chooses, are a match for any side and the backs have been outstanding. We have a winger who has scored 30 tries and still finds it difficult to catch the first team. Oldham by 20.
-
I was very impressed by the way some of your lads accepted defeat and came over to congratulate the Oldham supporters, shaking their hands and wishing them all the best for next season. I would also like to compliment the sound person by playing "We are the champions" even though he was a pain during the game. Can I wish you all at Cougar Park, except one, all the best in the playoffs so we can continue our battles next season.
-
Can't even dream of us losing. Keighley put 70 odd points against them yesterday and looking at Newcastle's squad they had at least 5 loan players just brought in players to make the fixture. Beat them and then on to Keighley to become champions.
-
After yesterday's performance I fear for the Oldham "A" team. Once the noisy neighbours are out of the way, surely the championship is ours. Come on the YEDS!
-
Can't wait for the biggest game of the season. Win this one we will have one hand on the Champions Trophy. Let's hope we can field a full set of forwards.
-
Do us both a favour and beat them overthill! Who knows the game at your place could be the title decider.
-
The Boys are back in town! I just hope it's fine, and if it is we will break the 2000 barrier. It's a bit strange with Hunslet they beat Keighley and get hammered by the Oldham "A" team. Surely, the hairnets aren't that good? Or is it Hunslet are struggling like most teams with injuries and just got a team out on the pitch.
-
Let's hope the Yeds play to the structure they were playing to in the first half last week for the full 80 minutes. Longy will have problems picking his forwards for what is always a forward battle at Derwent Park. I hope to see some of the injured backs getting some playing time for the difficult games coming up.
-
It will be interesting to see who Sean plays against a side we should, on paper, paste. I would play the strongest side possible so as to get some confidence back into the side. We have to be honest, the last two games have been dreadful and I know we have got injuries but so do other sides. Both K. and NWC had injuries and had to bring in loan players. I've gone on about points difference from the start of the season, I still feel it will come down to it. With that thought K. won't be easing off, they will amass has many points in every game they play. We have to do the same.
-
I bought over £50's worth of Law Cup tickets and still haven't had a refund. Is anyone else in the same position? If YOU did get a refund how did you do it? If no-one got a refund, with over a thousand Yeds coming overthill, they made a real killing - enough to pay for the Oldham "A" team!
-
Got to get another big score to keep the pressure on the chasing pack. The question being posed is will Longy use his fringe players again. This didn't work out too well the last time he tried it. My opinion is you MUST always play your strongest side based on how well they train and fit the plays being worked on.
-
We are top after the Midland game on points difference - 6. Sadly for Newcastle, we have to really put the points on the board to strengthen our position. This I feel means putting our strongest team out so really entertaining the crowd. We don't want a lack lustre event like the Cornwall game.
