The future of League 1 side York City Knights is now reportedly in serious doubt after it was confirmed their game this weekend was called off.
The York Press are reporting that club officials will decide in the next few days if they can address the situation involving their ground, which is described as “the latest setback for City of York Council’s community stadium scheme”.
The Knights have a deal to play their games at Bootham Crescent alongside York City FC until both teams move into the new stadium across the city.
However, it is understood the Knights have since been told they cannot play this weekend’s match against Doncaster on the pitch. The Press also reports that the club’s future will be resolved before next weekend’s trip to Toulouse.
