Amateur Rugby League outfits have again been given the opportunity to upgrade their grounds, with the help of a long-standing initiative facilitated by the Rugby Football League.
Clubs that have previously made use of the project have been contacted by the RFL’s Sean Mellor, who said: “In recent years, you have registered your club to be part of the `Engage with your Club’ initiative.
“After five great years of club improvement projects, this programme has been given its own make-over and a new title, `Give Back To Your Club’.
“Your event can be as big or small as you wish. ANYTHING that contributes to an improvement of your club environment will qualify.
“In the past, projects have ranged from painting changing rooms to complete refurbishment of social facilities, and from litter picks and trimming shrubbery to building pitch perimeter safety barriers.”
Mellor continued: “This year a top prizes of £3000 will be given to the best projects as judged by the RFL Facilities Trust and there are even more chances to win, as all clubs that complete an action event will be placed in a draw to win one of a number of £1000 prizes.
“Clubs registering before 31 May 2016 will receive an activity pack including T-shirts.”
He closed: “All clubs that register and complete an event will receive £50 to pay for tea and cakes or a BBQ for volunteers.
