Halifax have announced the signing of Will Sharp from Featherstone Rovers.
The winger, who can also operate across the rest of the back line, has signed a one-year deal with an option of a further year.
The 29 year-old is Richard Marshall’s first signing ahead of next season’s campaign and the Fax coach said: “We’re really excited to get Will on board for 2016.
“He’s a player who I’ve admired for a number of years and in my eyes is Super League quality. He’s had a really good year at Featherstone and when we were alerted of his availability, we didn’t hold back.”
Sharp leaves the Rovers after making 74 appearances and scoring an impressive 55 tries since joining the club from Hull FC in 2013.
Featherstone Rovers Chairman Mark Campbell spoke about his disappointment to lose Sharp to Halifax: “He’s a very committed player who will give his all week in week out.
“He plays the game with a smile on his face and is a great bloke to have around the dressing room. We’d like to wish Will all the best at Halifax, and thank him for his services to Featherstone Rovers.”
