Halifax trio join York

York City Knights have completed one-month loan deals for Halifax duo Adam Robinson and Sam Smeaton, while winger Tommy Saxton will remain at the club for the rest of the season.

Prop Robinson has been on the fringes of the Halifax team all year, but following the arrival of Ryan Boyle from Castleford, his game time looked set to become more restrictive.

Former Sheffield centre Smeaton was a frequent started for Fax earlier in the year, but niggling injuries and the impressive form of Ben Heaton have seen his opportunities become limited in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Saxton joined York on an initial one-month loan in May but has now agreed to stay with his hometown club for the rest of the year.

“We felt that Adam’s game time is limited at the moment and he needs minutes to get himself back up to speed,” said Halifax head coach Richard Marshall. “We hope he gets playing well and into form within the month.

“We have a good relationship with York with Tommy Saxton being there and the feedback from him is that he is enjoying his time there. We also feel that Sam will benefit from his spell with York too.”
