Hall could take Tupou spot on wing for Roosters debut

Ryan Hall might not have to wait long for his Roosters debut after his first appearance in the Roosters’ 21-man squad since signing with the club from Leeds Rhinos.

The winger’s recovery from injury has coincided with Daniel Tupou suffering a neck injury, sustained in a crusher tackle by former Catalans star Michael Oldfield.

While Tupou was named to start against Brisbane on Friday, his coach Trent Robinson confirmed the winger wouldn’t play.

“He couldn’t turn around a pretty delicate area. He’s not good enough to play and still sore.

“You want to make sure it’s right. The good thing about these injuries is they repair quite quickly in that area. He’s going well but not good enough to play.

And while Hall, who was named in the 21 jersey, isn’t the only option open to Robinson, he is among them.

“We’ve got a few options there. We’ve got Aubo (Mitchell Aubusson) and Ryan Hall in the 21. “
