Halifax prop forward Harry Kidd has signed a one-year contract extension after suffering an injury-plagued year in 2018.
Kidd’s ACL injury ruled him out of the entire season this year but Halifax Head Coach Richard Marshall has rewarded the forward for his work in rehabilitation.
“If you were to give out medals for perseverance, he’d win one without a doubt,” said Marshall.
“He’s been an integral part of the team, off the field and he’s done everything that’s been asked of him during his rehabilitation.”
“He suffered a really cruel blow, doing his ACL, which was really tough for him. But, he’s really got involved with the Halifax community. We had the option to extend his contract for a second year and we’ve taken him up on that.”
“He’s eager to show the fans and his teammates what he’s all about. We know his talents and I believe that he was one of the best front-rowers in League 1 in 2017.”
“It has been a long year, but I’ve still been here in Halifax at every training session, mixing with all of the lads,” added Kidd.
“I had an operation a few months after I sustained the injury. Since then, we’ve just been doing a lot of rehab on the knee and the physios here have been great and have really looked after me.”
“I should be fit for the start of 2019. I’ll get my fitness ready and sharp during the off-season and pre-season and make sure the knee is crystal clear for the league season.”
