Holbrook unimpressed despite Saints’ latest win

Saints coach Justin Holbrook struggled to find many positives despite the club’s win over Catalans.

The league leaders stuttered to victory over the Dragons, despite never really looking like being trouble in the 26-12 win.

Regan Grace scored twice for the hosts, but Holbrook wasn’t thrilled with his side’s performance.

“Positives? The fact we won is one,” he said.

“Tommy Makinson was fantastic and keeps delivering but as a group know we weren’t at our best.

“I’m obviously really happy to win the game but both sides were probably below their best tonight. The main thing is we came away with the win.

“It is hard for us, we have come off a couple of big wins and Catalans are a better team than where they sit. People see the table and assume the same kind of results but we knew it wouldn’t be.

“A lot of individuals were below their best, but I can’t really fault them. I was just happy to win a game like that.

“To still win the game when we aren’t at our best is probably a good thing. I have no doubt it would have been hard to sit through, but the main thing is we won.”
