HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS have added some utility value to their squad with the signing of Hannah Watt from Featherstone Rovers.
Over her five years with Rovers, the majority of Watt’s games have been played in the second row, but she has also featured in the front row as well as at full-back and centre.
As well as previously playing in Super League with Featherstone, Watt has also represented the England Community Lions, and joins the Giants after a successful trial period.
“I’ve joined Huddersfield this year as I was looking for a new challenge, and looking to play in a positive and competitive environment,” she explained.
“I was invited down to training and could see this was the right club for me to progress both on and off the field.
“The intensity and attitude from the girls during training is something that I’ve really been enjoying and I’m excited to see where this will take me. I also think that I can add some experience to the squad and hope to play a part in the club making the top four.
“I’ve played the last five seasons at Featherstone so making the change was nerve-racking, but the girls and staff at Giants have all been so supportive and helped me to transition naturally.”
Huddersfield head coach Nathan Graham added: “Hannah has impressed during her trial with the club and we are delighted she has joined the squad.
“She has a great attitude in training, both in the gym and on the field.
“She will blend in well with the group, and add some more competition for places which will drive performance.”
