Huddersfield Giants star commits to club

Huddersfield Giants star hooker Shaun Lunt has committed his immediate future to the club, saying he does not intend to leave before the end of his current contract, which expires at the end of next season.

After a successful loan spell at Leeds in 2012, the Rhinos are believed to have retained an interest in Lunt for some time. However, he has told Giants fans he will be playing for them in 2015, and is only concentrating on a strong finish to the season.

“Just recently there have been rumours about myself and other clubs, which are false,” said Lunt. “But I’m contracted to the Giants until the end of 2015 and I’ll be completing that contract.

“To be honest, thinking about my future hasn’t been at the forefront of mind, because all my focus has been on getting myself right so I can help the Giants mount a serious challenge at the end of the regular season and in the play-offs.

“It was great to get back in action at Wakefield last weekend and I just hope I can now put what’s been an injury-hit season behind me and finish the season strongly.”
