AMATEUR clubs in the Hull area will convene on Wednesday (April 2) with the aim of resurrecting the prestigious Council Cup.
The meeting, at the Blue Bell, Lowgate (7.00pm) has been called by Hull and District League officials to offer local open-age amateur Rugby League to grassroots outfits in the city following the exodus of teams in recent years to the Yorkshire Men’s League which, this year, has shelved its Hull Division.
Five other clubs, meanwhile, are operating in the National Conference League.
The Council Cup will, if enough sides step forward, operate on a round-robin basis, with games played midweek.
Entry is free and it is envisaged that the final will be played at Hull KR’s Sewell Group Craven Park.
