THE Hull and District Open Age League is hopeful of having six teams in place, by the end of September, to take part in the proposed Council Cup competition.
Delegates met last Wednesday at the Blue Bell, Lowgate, when interest was conveyed to members of the Hull ARL’s management committee – including from teams who were unable to attend – of planned participation.
League official Alan Parker told League Express: “We plan to go ahead even if only four teams make the starting block. The aim is to run the competition on a midweek, round-robin basis.”
Meanwhile Parker and others were feted recently by the Hull City Council, who honoured long-serving stalwarts of the youth scene in particular at a civic reception attended by local clubs and members of Hull FC and Hull KR.
