Hull FC release Holdsworth

Hull FC have agreed to release Daniel Holdsworth from the final year of his contract to enable him to join Cronulla Sharks, close to his family home.
The 29-year-old has left the club due to personal and family reasons and will continue his career in Australia.
Hull FC’s Football Manager, Motu Tony, said, “Daniel has left the club and will be returning to the NRL on personal grounds.
“It hasn’t quite worked out for him at Hull FC and a return to an Australian club is probably an environment better suited to him personally.
“Our focus remains on 2014 and building a competitive squad with players that are fully committed to the club, their teammates and the fans.”
He added, “We have been aware that Daniel could be leaving the club this autumn and have planned accordingly.
“Lee (Radford) has a handful of potential targets for a half back position and we hope to be able to announce a new signing in that area soon, as well as another outside back to further strengthen our squad and add genuine competition for places.”
