Hull FC star issues apology after being caught drink-driving

Hull FC forward Josh Bowden has formally apologised after he was caught driving while twice over the limit on Christmas Day.

The 24 year-old plead guilty to the charges yesterday at Hull Magistrates Court and was hit with a 20 month driving ban and a £1000 fine.

Bowden was caught by police officers driving an Audi A4 on West Ella Road on 25th December, a vehicle which he did not possess all the legal documentation for.

After a breathalyser, police concluded that Bowden was more than twice over the legal limit.

“I accept the consequences of my actions, which I understand were unacceptable and have let a lot of people down,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“I understand I have responsibilities as a professional sportsman and apologise for my behaviour, but accept this does not excuse my actions.”
