Hull surrender top spot after shock defeat to Leeds

Hull FC suffered their second consecutive defeat after losing 20-15 to Leeds Rhinos.

Their loss, combined with Wigan’s dramatic win over Wakefield, means Hull are off top spot.

The hosts fell behind when Liam Sutcliffe scored early on, but Carlos Tuimavave and Kirk Yeaman both scored for Hull before a Marc Sneyd drop goal extended the lead to 13-4 at the break.

Joel Moon pulled one back midway through the second-half, but a Sneyd penalty left the score 15-8 in favour of the hosts.

However, Brian McDermott’s side rallied and earned victory late on as Kallum Watkins’s two tries secured victory.
