Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has insisted although he is dismayed with the way the game is being run, he will not walk away from Rugby League, insisting he is “addicted’ to the sport.
Koukash told a press conference on Thursday that he believes the RFL should step aside in their running of Super League, and begin to let the clubs take control of the game. But he said even though he is disappointed with rulings such as the failure to get a marquee player introduced into Super League, he has no intention of quitting anytime soon.
“I am here and if people do not like me they can go to another sport,” Koukash told reporters on Thursday.
“I will continue to fight but I know what I have to fight for now and that’s the independence of Super League.
“I am determined to stay in this sport and I am determined to make a change. I am genuinely addicted to rugby league.”
