The USA Tomahawks have announced they are to take on Samoa in an official Rugby League test in July.
It is part of a week-long festival in Hawaii celebrating the sport, which will also include the island’s best talent going up against the New South Wales Country side. It starts on July 14 and the test takes place on the 19th.
In a press release, the Tomahawks said: “The Test should break the American attendence record for a league international with at least 8,000 seats to be filled.
“The Tomahawks shocked the world last year when they made the quarter finals of the Rugby League World Cup, the same stage that Samoa made it to.
“The Tomahawks team to face Samoa will feature at least six players from the World Cup squad that defeated France, Cook Islands and Wales in the tournament.
“Players returning include dynamic fullback Kristian Freed, forwards Danny and Steve Howard, halfback David Marando and domestic American stars Michael Garvey and Gabriel Farley.”
