Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has revealed that the build-up for St Helens v Wigan derbies give the coaches an “easy week” – as they don’t need to get their teams motivated.
The two famous rivals lock horns at Langtree Park on Friday night, and Wane insists that the players are motivated themselves ahead of the game, without coaches trying to do it for them.
“We try and keep sessions low-key in the build-up, because the players get revved up,” Wane told the media at his pre-match press conference.
“I know there’s no need to rev them up.
“When you go to Wakefield you do. But not St Helens. This is an easy week.”
