James Clare says Castleford team-mate Jake Trueman is the best player he’s ever played with.
The Tigers winger was a guest on the series finale of Rugby League Back Chat when the 20-year-old halfback was brought up.
Clare did little to hide his admiration for Trueman, who is the youngest member of the Great Britain squad for this Autumn’s tour.
“He’s the best player I’ve ever played with,” Clare said.
“He’s the best player I’ve ever seen. For such a young kid, and taking that away from him because he’s such a talented player, but you know when you see something where sometimes you have to stop and you clap or applaud and just shake your head? People do them, some might do one a year, maybe one in five years, that might only do one in their entire career.
“Truey is the kind of guy who is doing two or three things every day like that. Whether it’s chucking it down and snowing in pre-season or a beautiful day in July, he’s just doing amazing things.”
