James Lowes to hold talks with Bradford Bulls

Leeds Carnegie coach James Lowes has moved a step closer to becoming the new Bradford Bulls head coach, after he was granted permission to speak to the Super League club about the vacancy.

Lowes, who publicly threw his hat into the ring yesterday regarding the job, will now speak to his former club about taking over from Francis Cummins – who was dismissed on Monday.

Leeds Carnegie initially said they were not welcoming an approach for Lowes, but they now say they have “reluctantly agreed” to let Lowes talk to Bradford.

Leeds chairman Sir Ian McGeechan said: “Following our statement yesterday regarding the speculation linking James Lowes to the vacant head coach’s position at Bradford Bulls we can confirm that James has since asked the club for permission to speak with Bradford and we therefore have reluctantly agreed to his request.”
