Jay Pitts signs up at London Broncos for 2017 season

London Broncos have confirmed the signing of Bradford Bulls Jay Pitts, on a two-year deal.

Pitts will join current Bulls teammate Adrian Purtell in the capital, ahead of the 2017 season.

“I’m thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to play with London. You can see, the Broncos are building a team for a successful future, and whether or not they gain promotion this year, they’ll give it a really good push,” he said.

“They’ve worked very hard as a squad to have a strong 2016 season, and should only come back stronger in 2017.

“The last three seasons at Bradford have been fantastic, and I’m very grateful to all the boys I’ve played with and all the coaching staff I’ve worked under during my time here.

“Bradford Bulls restored my passion and love for the game, and will remain a special place to me, but I am now looking forward to the next challenge in my career.

“A move to the capital is really exciting, and I’m really looking forward to joining the boys ahead of a big season next year.”

Broncos coach Andrew Henderson said he was pleased with the signature of a player of Pitts’ calibre: “We’re really excited to have secured a player like Jay in his prime.

“He has played most of his career so far in the Super League with some strong clubs in this country, and considering his age, that is an impressive feat, and hopefully we will see him back in the Super League with London.

“Jay is a quality back row forward who will certainly fit into our style of play. He also has the ability to play at loose forward which is an added bonus for the squad and further improves our strength in depth.

“Jay is a quality person, hungry and ambitious, so will fit well into our environment. I can tell he’s really looking forward to joining the Broncos and working hard to continue taking this team forward.”
