Kear confirms Bulldogs stay

Batley Bulldogs head coach John Kear has laughed off suggestions that he is about to leave the club.

Reports have suggested that Kear might take on a more prominent role in the media after drawing praise for his punditry on SKY Sports and BBC. However, Kear rubbished those claims after the Bulldogs ended their season with a 60-12 win over Hunslet Hawks.

“Unless you know something I don’t know,” was Kear’s response after being questioned by a reporter

“I love doing the job, if I didn’t love doing the job I wouldn’t do it, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Batley ended the season by hammering relegated Hunslet 60-12

“On Tuesday we’re meeting to review the season. The players will be weighed to make sure they don’t pile too much on whilst they’re not here and the we’ll tell them when they’re coming back for pre-season.

“The start of the season is early February. Pre-season seems to get shorter every season but we’ve just got to handle that and get on with it.”
