Keighley Cougars halfback Jarrod Sammut on future beyond 2025

KEIGHLEY COUGARS halfback Jarrod Sammut might have turned 38 – but the former NRL and Super League player has not ruled out extending his stay.

The Australia-born Malta international made the Cougars the eleventh club of his career when he joined them on the eve for the season, and is looking to make a real impact.

And he has hinted that should promotion be won, his boots may not get hung up.

“I still love the game as much as I did when I first laced a pair of boots up when I was three years old,” he told the latest issue of Rugby League World magazine.

“For me, it’s a matter of how well the body is holding up as well as looking at family time.

“For the club, we want to turn a legacy over at Keighley and give the players who are going to come after us something to continue with. And at the same time, we want to enjoy the process.”
