Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has dedicated his MBE honour to the club, after he accepted the award at a Buckingham Palace investiture ceremony on Wednesday.
Sinfield was given the honour by Prince William, who honoured the man that has become the most successful captain in the history of Leeds Rhinos, captaining them to every domestic honour available since his debut for the club.
And Sinfield said afterwards that although it is humbling to receive the individual honour, it is more a testimony to everyone who has been involved with Leeds over the past ten years.
“I would like to accept it on behalf of the club really. So many people played a part in the success, over the last ten years in particular,” Sinfield said.
“For me to get recognised is very humbling but like I said I think it represents the club, all the players, our staff and the fans – it’s been a great place to work and play for the last ten years.”
